Iron Horse Stout and Mango-Habanero IPA at Tall City Brewing

 

It's foggy as heck here as well. The air is warmer than the ground surface, snow cover in Iowa is affecting air quality here and we're also getting icing at night. Forecast to be this way for the next week and getting even warmer. Great pic @BeerVikingSailor I will try to seize the moment and capture some moody skies here if poss over the next few days.

 

George Hunter a very nice stout from Castle Danger, a nice Minnesota brewery.

 

1) Dangerous Man Chocolate Milk Stout (5.5%): A Milk Stout from Minnesota with flavors of dark chocolate, Irish Coffee and cream, vanilla, lactose. Roasted.
versus
2) New Glarus Chocolate Milk Stout (Unknown ABV): A Milk Stout from Wisconsin with flavors of rich English cocoa and chocolate. Mild roast. Sweet. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) New Glarus Chocolate Milk Stout: Chocolate Milk Stout Battle. First is Dangerous Man. It has good ratings on BeerAdvocate. It drinks well. Some Irish coffee and cream flavors. Mild roast. Nicely done.
Next is New Glarus. Not clear on the ABV, but drinks slightly more rich and sweet. Nice English cocoa and chocoalte flavors. Sweet, but still a mild roast. Wish they'd put an ABV on this. There's two listings for this beer. A Chocolate Stout and a Milk Stout. And this is the Chocolate Milk Stout so not sure which this falls under. Very enjoyable. Both of these are pretty good.

With this beer I've finally cleaned out the holiday leftovers and now the fridge is back to its usual condition of being stocked only with what I like.

Labatt 50. Not bad, but I'd rather have a Bud if I'm in the mood for something light.

 

Having a Celebration IPA and working on dinner. Made some sauce today with meatballs and hot sausage, going to have it with some Cavatelli pasta for dinner.

Oh my, this fine beer was part of a mixed six pack. I want more please.

 

Typical schizo GA winter weather. Sunny and 30°F last weekend. 67°F and rainy today.

Enjoying a couple of nutty beers after spending some time packing for our road trip to Florida tomorrow.
The first is a Peanut Butter Hazelnut Caramel Chocolate Cake pastry stout from Hoppin' Frog that was better than expected, lots of distinct flavors as described in the title going on if you can get past the opening hazelnut assault.
The second brew was received via trade and is a nicely done peanut butter porter from King's Court in New York.
