1) Other Half DDH Southern Hopalistic (7.4% canned 11/14/23): A NEIPA from NY with Moteuka, Nelson, Wai-iti for flavors of tropical lime, gooseberry, green melon and grape. Balanced.
versus
2) Other Half DDH Mylar Bags (8.5% canned 11/16/23): A NEIPA from NY with El Dorado, Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic and Galaxy for flavors of orange, resinous tangerine, mango, and apricot. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Other Half DDH Southern Hopalistic: Other Half NEIPA Battle. Don't get a lot of these in the midwest so these are fun when you get them. First is Southern Hopalistic. I think this could be among the best NEIPA of all time. All southern hemisphaere hops. Tons of green lime, grape, melon. Delcious.
Next is Mylar Bags, rated World-Class on BeerAdvocate. The can got beat to shit. Larger and sweeter. Has more tangerine, mango, and apricot flavors. Hides the ABV well. Pretty good, actually very good. Pretty standard for Other Half I think.
Hard to argue with Southern Hopalistic. Doesn't need to be a DIPA or TIPA to be great in my opinion. I think this could give any IPA a run for it's money.

As many of you know, I've been (super) late to the stout game. I'm now rediscovering stouts like this one that have been go-tos for many of you. I like it.

Zennegash Saison/Farm House Ale 5.7% ABV.

Totally new beer to me. I don't see how people enjoy these Saisons with Brett. They smell and taste like a band aid or something. Funky. Not they style of Saison I prefer. Nonetheless, this is a good one. Spot on.

 

Forget trading beers. When are we gonna set up a trade for pepper flakes? These look delicious.

Sn pale #2

 

Bought a case of different beers from Ardent today to celebrate my birthday. 72 years young today. This one is a pale ale.

 

Realized some free previews of tunes from one of my bands BrassZilla. Slightly old...hoping the link works. The band has a solid foundation and we require no electricity (except beer & money) to perform. I would like Veronica to sling beers & BZ merch for huge tips this coming Fat Tuesday at our gig... Hey, a guy can dream, right?
Absolutely destroyed the Fair State Bonk City 4pk. Seemed fitting today. Leaning towards my Eire jaunt in a few weeks. Cheers!

A little beer fridge cleanup, I’ve had this for a few months, and it held up exceptionally well. Transient absolutely MAIDED this series of Pilsners. Really good stuff.
