The branding (the beer name and “springtime lager”) is a bit strange and hopefully won’t get in the way of the beer finding an audience outside of PA. If you get that “Little ‘Nator” is a reference to Troegenator w/o needing the beer description, and that bocks or dark lagers are associated with spring (even though Troegs isn’t claiming it’s a bock), the beer will make total sense… but I gotta wonder if Troegs considered how this beer will be perceived by someone not in the know of either. I bet the location of the customer (how far they are from PA) will make quite a difference in understanding.

Traditionally speaking, “little ‘nator” has a hint of “imperial session ale” in the word choice, but thankfully doesn’t come close to the contemptible nature of the latter.

Thanks for the heads up @CentralPABeerDude
This is a must try for me if it comes here, and I wouldn’t have noticed the beer on the shelf without this thread.

Hopefully, it won't deter people from giving it a shot. I think that those in the know, will definitely pick up on the Tröegenator reference.
I say it every time, but Tröegs is one of the breweries I really miss since moving to Florida.
Especially this time of year when Nugget Nectar hits the shelves.
