What beer are you drinking now? #4123

G'day all!

Snow might be headed my way.
I'm enjoying this German Pilsner from Wyold West Brewing Company out of Powell Wyoming. It is good enough to be served in a Weihenstephan glass.

Arrived in Columbus, OH last night. We're catching an early lunch at World of Beer, accompanied by a Bodhi DIPA from Columbus Brewing. I chose well.

 

Don't you love a freezing cold Saturday - an excuse to just stay put. Chores are done, and settling in for a beverage and some video-game moose hunting! Cheers!

Since I retired, I find it hard to remember the day of the week at times. Must be Saturday, because my hard-working PBR drinking wife is home.

Thought about kicking off an “Oldies but Goodies?” thread for this year with this one, Brooklyn’s Brown Ale. It’d fit the nostalgia for the style fir me a bit more than the beer itself (which I somehow never reviewed):


Plus, I didn’t want to “steal” another thread from @jonphisher

The beer itself falls squarely in the American side of brown ales with its more assertive bitterness than I prefer for browns (though it’s still cold and I tend to perceive more bitterness in cold darker beers). I was sort of expecting that despite the time that has elapsed since I last had one.

Im so glad you tagged me cause I was gonna message you for recommendations. I’m riding shotgun down to MD for a short trip to sister in laws with the fam.

I know it no VA but any “classics” you’d recommend I look for? I was awarded a stop while in town and a pit stop at state line liquors of 95 on the way home

As of now I’m gonna try and find some hopefully semi fresh dc brau corruption and port city options.

and PS…I plan to kick off that thread again with a classic that is undeniable when I open it. Just keep opening other things haha

If you find some classic styles by Lost Generation, I’d consider trying them out (new brewery, so not “classic in that sense). Yes, Port City would be up your alley.

So many other possibilities, but I’m not sure what they will have, but if you have a second to DM me, I might be able to offer “real time” help.
