I can understand waiting in line if I booked round trip airfare and hotel for this week and not wanting to miss anything.

I personally find the crowd atmosphere of these weekends to be overwhelming. Tuesday of the week after for sloppy seconds is more my speed.

It’s surprisingly not as cold as it could be.

The on-site bottle list is impressive even beyond the Derivations.

10yr BW, Phase Rule, VW BBT, For TWCP, Parallels.

Eye watering prices, but that's sort of a given.

Any STL people who would want a small box of Tree House cans? January Julius x2, Jubilee, and King Julius. Everything under 3 months old.

You guys are fun so figured I’d share. Not looking for payment or even a label, just an address.

    Day 3 Report:

Arrived at 10am. Worth it? Aside from grabbing a bar seat, probably not. My feet are still cold.

Best beers of the day: D17 and 10 year BW

    Noteworthy beer takes:

D13: Sold out first, worst beer of the day. Super faded, oxidized, no vanilla. The DBD Tanzanian tastes exactly how I remember D13 fresh though.

Derivation TWCP: Surprisingly good for its age. Happy to revisit this one.

VWBBT: First time trying. Solid. Price is ridiculous.

D15: lackluster when fresh and forgettable today. D17 on a whole nother level compared to this.

D Grand Cru: Did not live up to my expectations. This was missing the bourbon backbone that the new MJK has to support the amburana flavors. This was my issue with the DBD Mizunara as well. I wouldn’t have picked up any vanilla if I didn’t know it was there. Overall it was good, but left a lot to be desired in terms of intensity for a triple/double barrel aged SP stout.

Overall I really enjoyed Grand Cru, the amburana is a bit drying but I’m a sucker for the flavor it gives and got a good amount of vanilla on it.

Had a For LC bottle last night and loved it, cinnamon popped at first but gave way to a thick dark chocolate as it warmed, didn’t get much/any pepper.

Other beers from today - MJK 2024 is on par with b1 for me, love the amburana but it does overpower a bit. 10 year barleywine is absurdly good. D13 and the D15 keg showing their age.

Curious to try D14 again in a vacuum - really liked it when it was first released on-site but every time since then has just hit me as okay/fine. Definitely overshadowed by other beers today

Wonder how crazy it’ll be today. Know 10 candles will be big, but wonder if the fact it’s Sunday slows the crowd a bit.

My assumption is today will still be nuts because of the holiday tomorrow. Would love to be proven wrong.
