Is the shuttle free or are tickets not live yet? Or does the $20 buffet cover it?

 

Shuttle ride is free (apart from optionally tipping the driver possibly). There is a 'free' tag on the above link toward the bottom of the event details, too. Pretty cool of them to offer this option each year.

 

Also free because parts of it may fall off or apart while you are driving. Or the Reggie’s employee will be smoking next to and on top of a drum of chemical solvent that was just randomly left on the bus. Yes, true story from last year.

 

Yeah, the shuttles are barely functional. The one I was on took like 4 attempts to start and belched out a giant cloud of black smoke when it did. Also a very high chance some substances will be passed around.

 

So in anticipation of having to return my Rrhari due to infection reports I attempted to crack it open tonight, but was foiled by the plasta-wax. Is this a new type of wax they are using (I didn’t have issues opening with 2021 and prior, haven’t tried 2022s)? Previously their plastic wax has with effort cracked and chipped off, but this is like some self healing Roman concrete shit. There are serated knife marks all around the wax under the cap where I have attempted to saw through, but still cannot break through. After deciding I value my hands and fingers more than the beer and contemplating the stupidity of having to perform a ritual circumcision on the bottle in order to drink the beer I’ve accepted defeat and returned it to the fridge. Do I take this to FFF and ask them to remove the wax? Drill a hole through the top and drink it using a long straw? What’s the point of waxing bottles anymore? Can they just give 2024 festival goers unwaxed bottles and have a self wax station at the bottle pick up for anyone who wants to dip their bottle into this demonic Flex Seal?

You must not have read the fine print where you needed the special opener that came with the Deluxe tickets to open all DLD bottles from 2023 on did you?

What time do the gates open?

 

From years past, you can line up as early as you want, the security gates open to let people into a large holding pen at 7am and then the festival gates open at 9am.

 

This will be my 1st ever DLD!! Coming down from Minnesota, got a hotel about 15 minutes away cause it was cheap lol!
Any tips/advice would be great. I saw something about a shuttle service to the event called The Open Bottle,is this legit? Also are backpacks allowed, wanting to just carry my allotment in there during the day. Thanks in advance,any advice helps!

 

If you’re staying at a nearby hotel, get an Uber/Lyft back and forth. The shuttles that are offered originate at bars and go to DLD (and back), but don’t go on side trips. Backpacks are encouraged. Almost everyone will bring one into the event filled with “up to 72 oz” of beer. That’s the limit that 3 Floyds has set, but they don’t usually enforce it strictly. Security gates usually open around 7am, and we’ll be funneled into a large holding pen until the gates open at 9 am, but people will start sharing beer while waiting to get past security.
