Breweries that Ship to California

I think you’re better off using Tavour or someone website like that. Or maybe even trading. Beer laws are different in each state.

 

I haven't found any breweries that ship outside of their own state. Not that they don't exist, but the craft beer market isn't (yet) like wine so almost no breweries would go through the legal and logistics hurdles necessary to ship alcohol across state lines. Additionally, CA does not allow shipping beer direct to consumers from companies that aren't licensed within the state, so you are unlikely to find a brewery that does it..

 

you might be better off with a beer store that ships.

Sante Adairius just started shipping to Oregon, and I know Private Press had to do a lot of work to be able to ship to Ohio. Not sure if laws are getting less strict or more breweries are exploring the shipping options.

I think most of the breweries that do ship into CA from out of state use a 3rd party to handle the logistics.

 

Didn't Hair of the Dog go out of business in 2022? Or was that just their taproom?

 

Looking at their site, they have special rules for CA. It reads like they have a third party alcohol delivery service (only one day per week shipping and delays on the shipment times) who probably handles the licensing. Still, good information to have.

 

I think this is true of most alcohol shipments in and out of states, usually third party stuff.
But you can get their BA stouts this way!

WLV liquors ships if you are looking for some midwest beers, pipeworks, half acre etc.

 

They get Suarez drops like 2 times a year or something. So you have to strike when it's in if you're interested, but they usually make a big effort to announce it w/specific bundles offered.
