What beer are you drinking now? #4149

Got 2 of these so might as well have at it. Weihenstephaner Kristall Weissbier. It's incredible. Maybe as incredible as the story of my 1st ever Kristall Weissbier which I had in Germany on a rock n roll tour. (Dim stage lights) It was just another stop on a 6 week European tour for both bands and we arrived on time to the club. Big U shaped bar upstairs and a large basement with a stage. We sound checked and went out for food to a Chinese place that overlooked an ice skating rink. Everyone got their food, ate it, and looked at me and said "where's your dinner?" It came out of the kitchen right as we had to leave. We get back to the club 15 min b4 the show...my show. So no dinner and we rocked a packed house of like 600 noisy patrons. Then as the 2nd band rocks out I chow down in the back room. There were crates of beer stacked all around the room and we were told to have as much as we want. I snuck upstairs to the bar where earlier I spied a young Dame behind the bar and sure enuf, there she was. So I got a seat and even though she was very busy, struck up a sweet conversation with her. Bambi. Petite, trim, dark blue eyes, jet black hair, inked, biker-look. She was rolling Weissbiers for other customers and I asked: "Bambi, you beautiful bouncing Berlin babe. is there a clear Weiss?" Boom. Bambi hands me a few free WKWs. She was poppin' beers and pourin' 'em like a machine...a sex machine. That's my story. Prosting!!

 

Pulled a cellar beer to close out Cellaruary on my end. Here is the link to my brief comments, but I'm really enjoying and will perform a formal Cellar Review with my next bottle from this 365 day old batch.

Spent the last Leap Year Day enjoying a Beer Zombies Beer Festival in Las Vegas. Time has flown by since.

 

I have a similar story but mine was caused by a hallucinogen.

 

Spent the week in Florida traveling for work, ended up in Ft Lauderdale for lunch. Saw this boat being tugged down the channel beside the restaurant where we dined and texted Mrs O that I made (yelled, actually) an offer of $38,000 - CASH MONEY. I



I like our odds of picking this bad boy up! Now I’m in the Admiral’s Club joining Miami, enjoying this nice IPA from SaltWater Brewery (Screaming Reels). Pretty good stuff.

Leap Day is an outlier as are Sour beers in my world. This one from Hazelwood in the Columbia, SC area is nicely made as have been the German style beers i have had courtesy of @BMBCLT. Thanks Mr. BMBCLT!

Having another real beer, but low ABV at 4%. Tasty though. I have to fast this evening since I have to go in for lab work in the early morning. Figure I might be able to slip 2 of these in before I start the fasting.

'89, '92 & '93. Always a whirlwind. Too many places to remember! I think 4 or 5 places in Berlin. Usually lodging and transportation are more memorable than a lot of venues. The people I interact with in-between are interesting. I too sledgehammered The Wall winter of '89 !! Prost!

 

Post gym beer. Fuckin squats , strict presses and pendlay rows moving nicely @vabeerguy i almost Forgot how good it feels to move iron .

No disrespect intended but I think a better name for this beer would be So So. From a usually pretty good local brewery.
