Yup, covers night was one of the best for sure. That one, the acoustic show, and the Being There/surprise YHF night are the big three for me. (And when I stopped going - that Being There/YHF set was as perfectly unbeatable as a show any band could ever do for me.)

How *kid friendly* is the solid sound fest, seeing it is described as “family friendly” and “all ages”?

[as a person who would bring a child to a brewery, but not leave them unattended nor let them draw on the windows with crayon]

Depends on how old, but I'd say very. They have activities especially for kids (Story Pirates), the bands tend to be pretty "clean" lyric wise, and it's VERY laid back. The museum would probably be interesting to a kid too, really interesting and different art.

the only thing about solid sound that isn’t kid friendly is that if you’re there, it’s presumably largely about seeing Wilco and Wilco plays for about 2 hours 2 or 3 times during the fest. If your kid can handle being out and about all day with long stretches where they’re just listening to music (or a plan to work around that), it’s incredibly kid friendly!

Jumping on the kids thing, if I was to bring thee kiddos and my wife today to Tewksbury, have any of you stopped in for pizza with little ones around 3 on a Sunday?

It’s going to be insane and table space is hit or miss. It’s loud af so kids noise is no issue but it’s not relaxing. I don’t go there with ours but not to say you can’t. Pizza wait can be extended an hour plus on a weekend. So just plan ahead. No matter what, the easy way to think about it is that it’s a brewery first not a restaurant. It’s not made for kids. They won’t necessarily want to be there. But it’s doable. Breweries focus is 21+ alcohol.

Restaurants focus is all ages food.

In and out in 45 minutes. Two pizzas for the kids. One beer for mom and dad. Case of beer to bring home. We got a table upstairs right away and some less behaved kids were running around. The pizza is solid!

Considering a quick trip to Sandwich on my lunch break today. Any recommendations on new(ish) offerings? It's been 2 - 3 months since my last trip, & I am getting the itch.

Draft or to go? I know their draft list is small but you should be able to pick out 1 or 2 solid offerings.

Stopped by Tewksbury today, needed to stock up on cans. More kids there than adults and it was standing room only. Never going again on a weekend.

FYI - they were celebrating their “Grand Opening” in Tewksbury this weekend…because of the summer (?) soft opening and the rest of all they do, they never had held an official event. So Friday through today they had music and other special events going on.

That’s not to say it isn’t busy on the weekends…but this particular weekend might not be the one to judge by.

We were able to stop by Saturday at open to grab coffee. Actually being first customers in. I know they were doing music later but they had teased some special taps etc for the weekend. Aside from blood orange sap I didn’t see anything special or diff from a quick stop we made Thursday. Was a little let down and I’m sure it was typical Saturday suck there crowd wise later. But what special stuff/drafts did they do? Our friends in town said it was just a free glass and seltzer.

The year they had Tortoise, Andy Shauf (foxwarren), Julian Lage... that was probably my favorite lineup. I'm not sure if I'm going friday or saturday this time around, but pretty psyched to have some TH available all day for sure.

also... anyone try the Red Fern IPA yet? sounds intriguing and i havent had anything with Allora hops yet.

Double-double flip is absolutely world class. I love that it isn’t super syrupy like Truth was. Please do more barrel aged stuff like this!

It's between that and Ghosts of the Half Moon for the best stout I've had from them in the last year. Both absurdly good.
