Not as good as OG Nelson (from my first sip two years ago till now). Not even close. Nectaron is too juicy and tropical in Raul’s humble opinion. Mchilhenney Muntz:

[IMG] it's dry but smells of banana and lager. If there is wheat I want to hunt it down. Bring it on in now for a slow dance.

    Greetings Raul and all.

3 Monts, nicely offered by missus. Beer is better when offered, when it’s offered by your own partner I can tell it’s near world class.

    Good morning Advocates,
waiting to travel to Brighton next week, I had a nice beer in front of Bayern Munich demolishing a small lazio.
I've already talked about this beer (and added it to the database), but the first time I had it, it really left me enraptured even though I'm no longer a big drinker of this style.
Since availability is not always easy, having seen it again I bought two more cans and therefore I'm writing two more lines from the beginning:

Alder Beer Co. (Seregno, ITA) - MORRO BAY - West Coast Double IPA (7,5%)

44 cl can (€7), indications on the label: "Lot: L333E ; Canned on: 01/08/2024 ; Best consumed by: 11/05/2023".
American West Coast style double IPA with
hops: Comet, Chinook CGX, Citra, Amarillo, Simcoe, Mosaic, malts: Pils, Cara and addition of sugar and use of yeast: American Ale.
For completeness: the CHINOOK CGX is a cryogenic version of Crosby Hops (Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA).

On the nose, intense aromas of yellow and summer fruit, but also of citrus fruits: yellow peach, ripe plum, pineapple, grapefruit.
Versata is a deep blonde, but very clean: almost completely transparent.
In the mouth, a full-bodied beer, nice and dense, in which the flavor contribution of the malts is completely absorbed and masked by a long and complex bouquet of fruit: I mainly smell yellow peach and citrus fruits (grapefruit, orange peel), a light tropical nuance (passion fruit) before the beer ends with a pleasant bitterness (citrusy and slightly herbaceous), which leaves room for the fruity taste on the palate and leaving a bitter (not excessive) hint on the tongue.
Double IPA that is drunk with disarming ease, even if a more lively carbonation would have helped further.
Explosive and full taste, fragrant and enveloping which ends with a pleasant bitter hint of the right intensity (although for my personal tastes... even a slightly more bitter note compared to all this fruit would not have bothered me) .

    G'day all!

The mildness of Winter in Casper continues.

I'm having another Komes Baltic Porter. The price is easy, ~$4.50, and it tastes very good. AFAIK, the only Baltic Porter in town currently.

    Prost!

Oh,an interesting bit on the back label regarding how it changes with age.

Quite a contrast today vs Monday and Tuesday here, when it was in the 70s and sunny! Ah well, it is still (late) winter after all!

Fine, light gold colored body; excellent carbonation; nice head, white, frothy; broad streaks of foam cling to the glass. Fantastic aroma; pear primarily with suggestions of apple and berries. Clean taste; very delicate malt base offset with a light to moderate hop bitterness; subdued esters. Light bodied; crisp; mild dryness midway through the sip and into the finish.

A simple, straightforward pilsner, clean and refreshing on the palate, easy drinking all the way.

Yes, life in the Great Lakes region. On Feb. 27th we had high of 73° during the day and then a low of 16° that night. Only a 56° swing in a matter of hours.

I'm on a lawn mowing hiatus right now. Next month sometime it'll be time to stash the snowblower and bring out the mower. I prefer the mowing, that means the weather's nicer.
