What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4156

Triptych Nectaronazor DIPA (Nectaron/Citra). This central Illinois brewery make some great beer across the board that stands up to and, in some cases, exceeds Chicagoland, especially their hops and barrel program. This one brings passionfruit, ruby red grapefruit, clementine, navel orange flesh and peel, ripe pineapple, Southern Hemisphere hop funk, yellow peach, earthy pine resin. Pretty dry throughout. Significant bitterness. Top notch stuff. I prefer them over Hop Butcher at this point. I'll gladly continue to buy these guys when I see them on my occasional trips to IL.

Outer Range Brewing Au Natural - a Belgian style Tripel (as if there's another style of Tripel?)

ADDENDUM: this is a giant, peppery, malt, clove demon from 9000 feet. As some of you know, ORB's original dream was to make more Belgian style brews, but the market wants what the market wants here... and so, it's mostly hazies, and occasionally a GEM like this. Fantastic.

110% agree. I'm lucky because I live close. I'd imagine they only send out their cans for extended distro, which I get. But still, big bummer.

We really do! I had this round at Manic Meadery, which is on the way back from work for me. The guy who started the meadery started Gnosis. They have the recent beer releases plus all of the meads that people into meads go crazy for. Not my thing, but they get a lot of love for their craft. Just shoot me a message when you're planning on coming out next time. I live close!

 

Infinite Ale Works Into the Haze that was canned around lunch today. Our daughter and her boyfriend a brewer there just dropped it off.

 

Not my style and still not a great example.

Drekker Narfle The Garthok 30mo Heaven Hill BBA Imperial Pastry Stout, 13.7% ABV. Pours thick and black with a slight ring of bubbles. Aroma is banana, graham, marshmallow, cinnamon, and chocolate. Taste follows, plus peanut butter, quite sweet, slightly bitter, some bourbon but no burn. Good smooth and sticky mouthfeel though light on carbonation. Overall excellent, though with 30 months HH BBA I was hoping for more bourbon and more barrel. Can't believe it's me saying this, but having too many add-junks wasted the barreling. Hoping warming helps.

This was better on paper than in the glass. Smells real purty though. Warming helped the aroma more than the flavor. Note the cat on the table.
