What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4157

Welp, just about to put a bow on another week. Between work load and trying to help my wife & her mom navigate the mess that is Medicare post-surgery rehab maze it's been brutal.

Pre-gaming some for St. Patty's Day I guess. It's been many years since I've had a Harp Lager, so why not. Cheers to Friday BAs!

 

Going to start the weekend with some favorite IPA+ beers, going in descending order. First a newer, local, triple IPA from Ocelot, Talking Backwards.


Going to get a tad more chilly this weekend, so grabbing the chance to enjoy this outside with some music.

I just picked up the Torpedo IPA pack, for around $21. Yeah, we don't get much of a discount on 12packs in town.

I'll have to try another Cold IPA to be sure but I find this, right now and on the warmer side, just ok.

This was a good food beer at lunch today.

Memphis Made Gonnerbrau Kevik Pilsner



Good Amber color with a small but lasting white cap.

I get a mild aroma of grain and slightly sharp hops. Perhaps a touch of caramel as well.

Taste is clean, rounded and straight forward. Like a good restaurant house Amber with a bit more hops than usual. Should work well with food. Understated, unchallenging, almost unremarkable, yet satisfying.

Medium texture with an almost silky feel.

I don't rely on brewer name choices but Kveik Pilsner seems a bit odd for this one. It's listed here on BA as a Cream Ale and that seems to me as more appropiate. That's how it strikes me, an Amber Cream Ale with a notch more hops.

 

Long day at work.

 

I kept the Maibock from last spring, just too see how it faired. I'm shocked it's still good. It's a little more cloudy than a year ago. Nice and warming too.

Enjoying a excellent rice lager at Craft cellar. Good to get some beer in me.
