Long trial day done…left home at 7 and drove 1 and 1/2 hours. I was given $1.5 million to settle case and I closed the deal after Plaintiff’s testimony from the stand for $825,000. Drove 1 and half hours home to the pub…drinking a Hop Bullet Magnum Edition:

You must be buying it from the wrong place. My local store has excellent ground beef, certainly not "dog food". They are actually known for the quality of their ground beef (and meats in general) and will also custom grind whatever you want.

Checking to see if this Chicago area beer is as good as I thought it was on Sunday.

Too early to tell given its temperature and the fact my palate is dealing with a finished Ruination and a near finished Oliva.

It has probably been years since I mentioned this but my dad use to go to the local butcher store (they had them back in the 1950’s and 1960’s) and have the butcher grind up a hunk of beef into hamburger. My dad used the meat to make what he called a “cannibal” sandwich which consisted of raw ground beef, onions, garlic, salt and pepper. I guess back in those days you had to be careful not to eat raw pork so hence the reason he watched as the butcher ground the meat. Of course I tried it but was not impressed.

My dad used to grab pinches of raw hamburg and eat it, but I've never had any desire to eat raw meat. His specialty was the ability to mop up whatever was left on his plate and turn it into a sandwich - like potatoes and peas etc. Didn't matter what it was, he'd make a sandwich out of it. Cheers!

Revolution / Half Ace On and On Part 3. This is fun as a bruiser, but aside from some decent roastiness, is lacking in complexity, nuance and craft. I compare it to what I expect from the Tyson/Paul fight.

Master Shredder. An IPA brewed by Veil.

Went to the local seafood store today. Atlantic cod and Georgia shrimp for chow tonight. While at the store, I picked a four pack of Master Shredder. The store has been selling a Veil brew for the last two months. What more could an old guy ask for?

Dads rule. Lost mine 16 years ago at 75. Now I wish I had taken notes. They would have made a great book.

Could be that Great Depression had an impact on him. My dad was born in 1920 (in four days he would 104 years old) so the depression was a part of his life.. He always said it was a sin to waste food. He also said it was a sin to waste beer so I am not sure how sincere he was about the subject.

I think you're absolutely correct - they didn't waste anything and I also believe it was because of the great depression.
