    1) Phase Three DDH Unused PTO (8.0% canned 12/28/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic, Vic Secret, and Strata for flavors of grapefruit and lime citrus, zesty white grape, peach, and floral notes.
    versus
    2) Phase Three DDH Linear Gradient (7.7% canned 2/28/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Amarillo, & Motueka for flavors of tangerine, lime, peach, tropical melon/berries. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Phase Three DDH Unused PTO:
Phase Three NEIPA Battle. First is DDH Unused PTO. Getting a bit older, but still drinking with excellent grape notes.
Next is Linear Gradient, a new release. Has a lot of orange and tangerine from the Citra and Amarillo. Then a little bit of lime and green melon/berry notes from the Motueka. I'm not a huge Amarillo fan, but I think the Motueka adds some nice green tropical flavors in this one.
I think even at hitting the 3 month mark the Unused PTO drinks at least as good. The hop combination here is superb with the tropical Mosaic to balance the brighter Vic Secret and Strata. This was sadly once again one of my last, but favorite Phase Three IPAs.

Afternoon, all, and Happy Weird Beer Wednesday! This is Sam's Summa' Sippa', a "mojito-inspired radler" from Confluence Brewing, Des Moines, IA. I picked up this single for two bucks at the liquor store last week. This stuff is nasty when cold. As it warms a bit, however, some of the character starts to pop through. Big flavors of lime and mint up front, alongside notes of juniper and botanicals reminiscent of gin. Not as bad as I thought it'd be. What's in YOUR Solo cup?

Hi ho BAs! Happy Hump Day!

Got a couple of new hazies coming your way. First up, Fire Maker Hazed & Blazed NEIPA 7.2%. Mosaic, Lemondrop and El Dorado hops. Nice hops combo. Juicy citrus and tropical fruit aromas. Borderline cloudy rather than hazy look. Head retention on the short side. Light to medium body with a soft mouthfeel. Alcohol pokes through in aroma and flavor. Not bad for one of the lesser known breweries in Atlanta. Cheers!
