    It’s probably “cringe” to even talk about likes—I just find the social aspects of how this kind of thing affects behavior interesting.

    The "cheers" emoji could probably take care of the three reactions that @jesskidden mentioned. And then for the condolences, we need a picture of a beer being poured out; one for our fallen brothers/sisters.

    This is a beer site after all, right?

    That’s if there’s a way to apply an emoji similar to how we use the “like” button now—which doesn’t register as a separate message/response, but just as a reaction underneath the message. Otherwise you’d have lots of people replying to a post with just an emoji, which adds to the number of posts to scroll through if you are just interested in reading written responses. Imagine if every “like” received to a post registered as a separate message—it would become unwieldy fast.

    A different site I visit doesn't do Likes/Recs and I'd like to be able to give one when someone answers a question I post. Another site lets you Rec, but doesn't show who Recs a given post.

    This is why I mentioned it, no longer use they site but I did for a while and it didn’t do like, but you could still quote people. It didn’t leave notifications either which was very annoying since it was a very active board, very easy to miss stuff.
