I'm never sure if the first of the month has to fall by the Sunday or the Tuesday to launch a new month... But the Untappd listings don't have any reviews which makes me think they weren't on tap today. Meaning next Sunday is the launch with bottle sales starting a week from this Tuesday. Or I'm wrong.

How are you all doing with shipping lately? I did a cellar clear in early March (shipping to the east coast), should I expect some movement in the next week or two?

I submitted an order for new product around the same time and haven’t gotten an update yet. I figured from the discussion here that it might take up to a month or so.

So very confusing.. they told me it was on (Sunday) when I sent them question via instagram. But like you said I saw no check ins. I went Monday and can confirm I tried the new April beers. Looks like I am the only check in for all of them? Weird? Problem with Untappd? People slacking?

Still waiting on my March order too. I actually got notice that it shipped a week and a half ago, but the tracking # has just been sitting at label created since then. So seems to still be at least a month wait.

Better that than the other way around! Hope you had a good visit.

Yes definitely a good visit! Some tasting notes:

Fignotize - notorious F.I.G. was one of my favorites from last year. This didn’t disappoint. Was my favorite of April so will be getting one extra bottle.

Three’s Cocompany - haven’t been super fond of the non BA stouts lately but this was good. If you liked this beer in the past I think you will continue to enjoy this one.

Fuego Fresa Especial - unique, good, but wasn’t compelled to buy more than the included bottle. One should be enough for me but I’m still considering getting a second.

Mistah Nice Pie - impressively tasty for a “blonde ale” like this a lot more than I thought I would

Werewolves of Ecuador - I don’t like the Monster Stout base, this didn’t change my mind

I'm intrigued by Offshoot 7 because past anniversary IPA have been good... But it irks me when premium IPA makers don't list at least the 2-3 principle hops used.

I opened a Portified at the start of November and had the last pour tonight. Kept in fridge the whole time. It's awesome. Not any drop off or even much change at all sitting that long (five months). Not being carbonated helps of course, but still pretty cool.

I still don't want any, but Banana Graham is an on point Bruery name. Good job Society.

This reminds me of a bottle of Utopias (2015 I believe) that I used to have. I had that thing open for years. Was still fine after a year, 2 years had some drop off, 3 was significant drop off, after 4 it was no longer good. Granted that is a bit of a different beast than Portified. Fun little experiment!

Ordered my cellar for the year so far last night. Label emailed this morning. Now let’s see how quick it moves out…

I know for me I am still waiting on March allotments, and when I inquired this week, I was told that they are working through a licensing transition with their partner. I am choosing to interpret that as a good thing for the future. Most interesting thing is that I currently don't have the option to have anything shipped to me. I can only add April beers to my cellar, and don't have the option to get anything from my cellar. Makes me wonder if we have a new East Coast partner getting up and running!? But this has made me hold off on buying any of my April allotment.

I thought Gruep Project and Societally Acceptable were pretty good as well.

East Coast Shipping: I placed an order on Tuesday (4/2), it said it was processing on Wednesday, and it shipped on Thursday, with an ETA of next Wednesday (4/10). This has generally been my experience during non-peak times (i.e. a little over a week.) Not sure why they're struggling with others. For what it's worth, I'm almost always shipping 6 bottles and they're usually recent releases.

Some of these are older releases, but quick thoughts:
    • Fürst - Thicc, high viscosity chocolate stout, lots of cacao accented by vanilla, just a bit of almond, and only the faintest hint of strawberry (which, unlike a lot of fruit additions, is not distracting). I don't always love Bayonet base and usually find fruit additions in stout to be distracting, so this was better than expected…
    • On Tuesdays We Brunch - Cinnamon and almonds more than coffee, just a hint of maple sweetness along with the standard BT character... I'm not a big coffee fan, so this works for me, but if I were, I would be disappointed
Looking forward to As Far as Rye Can See and the Werewolf beer, will hopefully get to them next week

How is Etain already six years old!?! Man time flies.

Anyway, it's drinking fantastic. Super mellow, great dark fruit flavors, body not too thin like some of the later ones, still a good level of carbonation.

Fat Twosday drinking great. Cinnamon has calmed a little and I'm getting a lot more pecan. Very enjoyable.
