Just drain poured a beer from Eighth State in Greenville, South Carolina. This English Barleywine was acquired via trade. The downfall was the Skor Bars, toffee, and caramel adjuncts, liquid candy bar. My stomach is starting to hurt and i need some mouthwash...

Found something to relieve my beer #1 troubles, one of my favorites from yesteryear.

1) Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel (5.0%): A German Dunkel with flavors of brown bread, earthy Munich malt, bread and yeast.
versus
2) Giesenbra Bohemian Necromancer (4.9%): A Czech Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of dark cocoa, black malt, bread. Earthy and lightly floral. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel: German Dunkel vs Czech Dark Battle. First is Ayinger. Probably the gold-standard for a Dunkel. Earthy, brown bread and sugar, nutty, and smooth.
Next is the Czech Dark Lager. Dark bread, black malt. This one is also smooth and bready, but doesn't have that brown sugar and nutty flavor in the dunkel. I really like both styles, but when a dunkel is perfect it's hard to beat, like Ayinger here.

Awesome. Thats the house beer at Club Raul. You can pick the first song of the day that we bang if you want. Don’t feel pressured though. I know that it’s a big decision.

Cold, windy, dreary day, so a walk sounded good? Got a little over 2 miles in before I finally gave in to the wind, could barely keep my eyes open. Takes a lot of machinery to groom a 1/4 mile dirt track. Home now, warming up with a Guinness Extra Stout. Cheers!
