Any word yet on Notch Brighton's music and lager fest happening June 8? The last I heard was that brewers, bands and tickets would be announced "later in March"

Nothing yet, but this might be an event that will sell out fast.

The anniversary beer is a svetlý špeciál "or special pale lager with a slightly higher strength (5.2%) than standard. An enhanced double decoction with Czech floor malted barley, hopped with Sládek, Sterling and Michigan Saaz hops, open fermented, natural carbonation, and extended maturation in horizontal layering tanks."

Sounds great. Looks great. You can't grab it in cans until Friday though.

It's available for shipping on the online ordering site today.
It also looks like they are doing a flat shipping rate of $19.99 for up to a case. So looks like I'm ordering myself a mixed case tonight, since there is no way I make to either location this weekend.

Likely a Stichfass of it Friday too.

Quick update- ordered a mixed case around 7pm last night.
FedEx delivered it through the disgusting rain/slush mix in my town around 1pm today. I am not upset at all.

The anniversary beer will have to wait until tonight or maybe tomorrow, but I am glad it's here.

Ha yeah, it’ll be garbage. Stay away, especially the Stichfass.

Enjoy! It’s one of the few things I’ve enjoyed about wedding planning so far.

I’ll be there Saturday afternoon as well. You should come by, I’ll buy you a 14th Anniversary liter…despite the lack of decoctions.

Anniversary is excellent (gravity cask!!) but man I’m even more wowed by how incredible the updated pizza project is. I was pretty disappointed with their first iteration (the squares were pricy and not as good as their popup neapolitan ish pies) but holy shit. NY style, 16” pizzas, slices of every kind they offer, and honestly one of the best slices I’ve ever had in Boston.

Stichfass kicked in 45 minutes. I blame you.

notch came through with the quick shipping, so this fan from Long Island was able to enjoy the anni beer on the same day as the locals.
As much as I enjoy all of notch’s offerings, the anniversary beers seem to be on another level. I’ve only been around for the last five, but they’ve all been superb.
Shipping to NY also saves me the 8 hour round trip journey, but the con is that I don’t see @MattOC as much.

Seriously! I stopped in at 6:40 and it was long gone. Was great on draft tho!

Small window to be in the area tomorrow afternoon with a busy last week of work/family/kids (though order of importance is fuck work and the women of my family before everything:wink:). I still couldn’t make it, since that would make beer fourth ha.

Is the anniversary beer long gone in cans? One I wish I didn’t miss. No worries if so and happy for all of you who got it!

They said they made a lot of it when I stopped in earlier this week.

Here now in Brighton and it's available. Delicious on tap, I'll have to get some cans to go.

A buddy of mine pointed it out, but the XIV on the cans looks just like the old White Birch cans. Luckily these cans aren’t going to explode on me.
