Bullfrog Brewery Oud 15 Release

I know nothing has been posted publically, but does anyone have an idea if anything special will be on tap? I know they have had a few good beers on tap at previous releases, and I would think that an anniversary release would mean something interesting should show up. Do they still do kegs gone wild on first Friday's?

On a side note does anyone know of anywhere to stop and grab some bottles between Pittsburgh and Williamsport?

Does anyone have an update? Is there a line? Will showing up at 10:30 be OK?

 

There is a line. Not sure why the 10 people or so feel the need to stand outside in the first place, but I digress. 1030 should be fine from what I see

 

Uh-oh. Rare-o-meter currently pointing to shelf beer side of the scale and not towards white wale side of the scale. Cut your losses, sell...sell...sell!!!!

 

Just called them. Guy on the phone said he will be surprised if any bottles are left by Noon. Said about 20 in line now and perhaps 60 had already gone through. Can anyone there confirm this report? Wish I could have gone but had an appointment today and wouldn't you know it, just got canceled! Hope the beer turns out to be worth the trip for all those who made it. Cheers!

Did they put out more then anticipated? My bottles say xxx/506.

 

They had a couple hundred bottles for Pub Club members

However, for $50 you could become a Pub Club member on the spot and get 3 more.
Beyond that, after the line went through, people can and did go through more times. I'm guessing this won't have landed in too many BA's hands...but the ones it did will have the lion's share.

Excellent beer. Hard to believe it's 13-14% ABV. Tastes 6ish. Absolute cherry bomb.

Awesome meeting everyone that trekked out there and stood around in 20 degree weather and nasty wind. Well worth it on a number of levels.

 

So they had some set aside for pub club members? I could not get an answer out of anyone ahead of time.

 

I was in and out pretty quickly the morning having arrived just after 11am. Glad that my nerves and apprehension about the brewery being super busy weren't met with disappointment. I got my 3 bottles and split pretty quickly as I had plans to check out Selin's Grove and Al's of Hampden before getting back home to work tonight. All in all, a nice day in central PA...I look forward to trying the beer when I get around to it!

 

I'm a member of the Pub Club and was able to purchase my allotment the night before. I don't know how many they held for pub club members.

 

Yeah, just got off the phone and was told the same. Only I was told they weren't doing the pub club sale ahead of time by another bartender a few days before. a wee bit pissed I am.

 

Thanks to the OP for the heads up on this. I live 45 min. away and never would have know this was happening without him and the rest of the BAers. Can't wait to do it again! (minus the 20 degree weather and driving wind)

 

One of the best organized releases I've ever attended. Got through the line in almost no-time and everything was all bagged up and ready to sell when they opened. Nice job, Bullfrog!

Edit: I stuck around for a beer afterwards (Blue Condition, and it was pretty decent), and asked the bartender how many they had left. Said there were only a couple dozen behind the bar as of like 11:45am, and they expected them to be gone pretty quickly. Not sure if there's any leftover for the dinner crowd, but very glad I was able to get my allotment

 

Very well run release and it was good to see some familiar faces again. Wish i could have stuck around to throw a few back. Looking forward to trying this one very soon!
