    look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

    Very pale tinge of yellow to the body; dense, very active carbonation; thick, sudsy head, white and sticky. Interesting smell; a hint of brett funk; chamomile and mint, freshly cut grass. Light, delicate flavors; light funk and citrus; very faint note of light bread; wispy esters. Light body; crisp; delicate brightness on the palate; a very mild sense of dryness at the finish.

    One doesn't see table beers too often. This is a beautiful rendition of the style. While light and delicate overall in appearance, taste and mouthfeel, one picks up a lot of variety and depth of character with this beer. Definitely easy drinking.

    1) Barrel Theory Shooter McGavin (8.2% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra for flavors of tropical orange, melon, berries, papaya, mango. Tropical and incredibly smooth.
    versus
    2) Drekker King of The Thing (8.3% canned 2/27/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra hops for flavors of orange citrus, tropical pineapple and melon, some peach and mango. Juicy.

    Winner:
    1) Barrel Theory Shooter McGavin    : This is an IPA battle using the Citra hop. First is Barrel Theory Shootever McGavin. This is rated World-Class on BeerAdvocate, but only 69 ratings. Strong aromas and flavors. Tropical orange, pineapple, melon, and berry notes. Complex, balanced and slightly sweet. Incredibly flavorful and near perfect mouthfeel.
    Next is Drekker King Of The Thing. One of their best. Very similar aromas. Slightly more orange, pineapple citrus flavors. Similar flavors overall, but slightly more citrus rather than tropical notes.
    Tough to call a winner, but think it goes to Barrel Theory. I have heard great things about this brewery in Minneapolis, but this is the first one that really impressed me. If you look at the reviews on this they are stellar. An amazing IPA and this beer is going places. Reason enough for me to make a visit here sometime. Sometime you stumble upon a World-Class beer on a random Thursday, but that's what makes exploring, seeking out, and trying new craft beers great.

    Feels like Friday to me - I'm off until next Tuesday now. Just got off a beer zoom where I had a Newport Blueberry Ale and a Two Hearted. Having another Two Hearted while I work on making some pasta for dinner. The house smells awesome with the simmering pasta sauce.
