    Hello BA!

It was a beautiful Autumn Saturday here in Oz, made all the better by the start of the local footy and netball seasons. Those sports will support me through the long, cold winter that approaches - well, them and beer, of course!

A couple of beers today: Victoria Bitter (VB), a classic Aussie macro lager that's sweet, slightly cloying and possesses the unmistakable, slightly floral, slightly sour, tang of Aussie Pride of Ringwood hops, and Freyja Moon, a locally-made American IPA that's about as far from VB as you can get.

Here's to the coming winter, and the sun that has fled my shores to nestle comfortably above you lucky buggers in the Northern Hemisphere (the second-best hemisphere!).

    Cheers!

Morning BA. It's still just about morning here.

Visiting London brewery for the first time.

Wolf Quad by London. A new to me hop, loads of mango and hugh bitterness, which I like. Cheers!

    Brouwerij Huyghe Deleria
    Belgian Pale Strong Ale

Light golden color and decent white cap. Aroma of lightly spicy malt and gentle hops.

There is a touch of quality fino sherry, just a touch, in the subtle weave of flavors. Malt, spices, hops are there in a subtle sophisticated way and the overall flavor profile is simply high quality Belgian Blonde Ale.

A gentle profile belies the 8.5% strength and I suppose the pink elephant can is indicative of more than the brewers being women.

VB was my go to when I was there in 98, especially on the Liveaboard Boat ( after diving was done ).

Started drinking this last night, never took a picture, then dozed off. Finishing it now to start the day because juice is very important for the morning.

Where abouts? If you don't mind me asking... We have some friends that live up Warwickshire way. Cherrington, so beautiful there. Hooky territory

We're in Weston-on-the-Green, so a little south of Croughton. Been to the Hook Norton brewery a fair few times!

Good morning/afternoon/evening BAs! This morning’s coffee comes from Crane Brewing Co. in MO - “King Omar” a Baltic Porter:

No canning date. Purchased at the brewery last May. Poured at 52°. Bitter roast malt. Bittersweet dark chocolate. No warmth from 8% abv. A good beer to start my day.

I’ll drive down to Huntington today and visit my siblings who live there. The weather has cleared up and it should be a nice drive. Cheers and have a super Saturday y’all!

My second beer but the day is young . . .

    Urban South Brewery
    Throwback Vibes IPA

Golden color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt and noticably green, pleasantly citrus hops.

Taste is clean, refreshing and hop forward in a tasty way. Their is a solid malt base but hops are the primary flavoring agent here. The hop blend is skillful enough I don't get high points like lemon or grapefruit, rather a tasty mix of citrus elements that even out in a rounded whole.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall this one doesn't really stand out as more than a competent NEIPA but it certainly runs with the pack.

Awesome! I lived in Caversfield housing for over a year in Bicester ( My Landlord was British Army & wanted his house back after a Cyprus assignment ) Usually when I went pubbing it involved DDs or Trains, so usually further afield, do remember a few Pints & Jack Potatoes at Sturdy's Castle ( More Yanks than Brits )
