hi, I just got back from a trip to Iowa where my brother who never asks for much wanted me to get Miltenberger beer for him I could not find it in the place in Iowa I was visiting. Does anyone have any idea where I can get this beer for him, I’m actually in Illinois, but I do have relatives in Iowa that could pick it up for me Thanks so much, Kate.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but from what I can find the brewery does not distribute to the U.S. Maybe someone else will see this thread and respond with better news, or you can email them to find out directly from the source. [email protected]
Your brother seems to sound so sure about the name of this beer, but could there be a similar name that he's remembering? If you ask him and he comes up with a similar name, let us know and we'll see what we can find. It's always possible that a local brewery makes a beer and gives it a name that is similar to Miltenberg(er).
Hey. It's on BA! https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/9151/ Contact the brewery, maybe? Todd indicated that it is or was imported to the US. Looks like there are some US reviews of the beers from 8+ years ago.
I visited the Faust brewery in Miltenberg back in 2016. At that time there was little or no distro of their product outside of Germany. Since it was such great beer & brewery tour, I have periodically looked for it stateside. Unfortunately, 8 years later I’ve never found it anywhere I hunt for beer, (maybe somewhere on the coasts). if anyone in Iowa would/could have it, John’s Grocery in Iowa City maybe a good source to try! Good luck!
Yeah, I saw that, but I was just suggesting that maybe the brother had experienced a beer from some local Iowa brewery that used a name that is similar to Miltenberger, and that double checking with him about the name might prove fruitful. It's a shot in the dark because, otherwise, the Miltenberger beer isn't available in the US from what I can find.
