Visited Fass Brewing in Conroe, Texas last weekend, a brewery that manly produces German style beers. This one is Alpenglow, their Rotbier. Nice notes of bread, honey and toffee. Cheers!

I hope you see it fresh again soon. I think it's definitely in your wheelhouse.

You are correct. FW ran into a legal issue and had to change the name after the initial release.

Ho hum, it's back to my daily driver for the duration of today barring unforeseen changes.

Not a complaint. This stuff is amazing.

Mortal Bloom hazy IPA while chilling out front with the wife in the 76 degree sun. Productive day for me, all bedding washed and beds remade, bought new pillows and got the wife flowers and a new Yankee candle. I've become quite the domesticated little bitch since retiring.

New to me barrel aged Brown Ale, well, Imperial Brown Ale. Served a bit too warm but I can tell that it is very good.

    Prost!

I have one, but it's huge and looks funny with only 11-12 ounces in it. I always meant to buy one of the Martin branded ones that are sized for a 12 oz beer, but never got around to it.

Hmm, this was to be my final post today, so as to not be repetitive with the Urqs (that's what I'm calling them now... get used to it!).

However, I then considered my glassware-cleaning schedule. Yes, I have one.

I typically hand-wash everything, tho every 6 weeks (due date tomorrow) I run the dishwasher loaded (I clean according to an extensive spreadsheet).

Perhaps each glass style should see use prior to its entry into la machine, I'm thinking.

Let's see how long I last at this endeavor...

Part of my haul today and one of my favorites. Unfortunately there is no date so I took a chance....and got screwed. This beer is def old. I know this beer. Oh well cant win them all! I may have to drain pour. Lots of bitterness and no Mosaic aroma or character.[IMG]

    Seven Island Brewery -- Deisidaimonia
    Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout
    ABV: n/a; pouring temperature: 48 °F: bottling info: n/a
    Source: Tavour (1-23)

    4.25/5 rDev -2.3%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Pours a clear dark brown and mahogany red color; opaque in the glass; thin yet lasting tan head, fairly dense texture. Fantastic dark roasted grain nose infused with a balanced presence of bourbon. The taste ramps up the aroma notes; richer, darker, sweeter in presence; dark milk chocolate; very slight grain char; subtle yet pleasing undercurrent of whiskey. Heavy body; dense; coats the palate with residual sugars.

No dating or ABV info noted on the label, plus the somewhat confusing info about the brewery - Brewed and packaged by Sori Brewing in Estonia or Sevevisland Brewery and / or Seven Island Brewery. Regardless, the beer is well-balanced and nicely complex; a great example of outstanding barrel aging.
