Just picked up some SN's Summerfest (In hopes it ushers in some warmer weather) and it's drinking wonderfully. Super stoked on this years.

I picked up 2 sixers yesterday as well. Canned on 03/18/24. A crisp wallop of lemony and woody hops finishing very dry. Good stuff.

TG Dorthy's New World Lager. I really like it. If it were my beer I'd coin it: Everthang Lager.

Did you guys find Summerfest less hoppy than last year? Last year‘s had a big noble hop aroma and flavor that I’m not tasting in this version. Maybe it’s my allergies?

Personally, no... but I've only had one can this year so far.

As far as I can tell - Their standard Dunkel has artificial sweetener(!) and its inclusion makes the beer very strange... and not in a pleasant way. The body and flavor were relatively massive. Does this sound like the odd thing you couldn't pinpoint? I have no idea about your "export" higher ABV version, but their Zwick'l Dunkel and Dunkler Bock do not have the sweetener.

I've been slacking on the lager love thread, I apologize, as I love lagers. Here's some recent. (Top left) Pacifico Clara, (top right) Coors Banquet, (bottom left) Modelo Especial, & (bottom right) Garage Beer Lime. Cheers to lager beer!

Now for some more lager love, and I do love this new to me offering. Brooklyn Pilsner. Nice representation of a German Pilsner.

My impression is that the Brooklyn Crisp Pilsner is roughly comparable to a typical 1970s American or Canadian adjunct lager AAL (Blitz Weinhard, Schmidt PA, Hudepohl, Labatt Blue. . . ). I think there are a couple of AAL style examples today that I like, but not Crisp. Crisp was a real disappointment when I tried it. By the way, I thought the discontinued Brooklyn Pilsner was excellent. Not unconditional, but realistic, love.

I did see your review of the Brooklyn Crisp Pilsner. You weren't a fan. I've never had the discontinued version. Wish I could've had the one you speak of, but that being said, I do like this version. Cheers!

I cannot tell if it was a sweetener since it's about a month since I tried this beer. How do you know that the standard Dunkel has it?

Revisiting Surf House after it is becoming more available. I cannot quite form an opinion yet, but it is growing on me. Something about its earthy and bready spiciness makes it quite enjoyable. Certainly not a pilsner, but who needs it to be properly styled?

Here is Inner Worlds Pale Lager from E9 Brewing in Tacoma.

Quite aromatic with grain and green melon. Sudsy and lush on the tongue. Taste is a little sweet and quite fruity with ripe honeydew and a sweet lemon finish. This is so mellow and fruity for a Lager, but I find it refreshing and delicious. You could call it an IPL since it's plenty hoppy and not at all dry. I call it a new favorite and I hope E-9 will do more with this style.

I just had my second can, I can definitely taste more hop flavor now that my allergies have cleared up, but hop flavor still doesn’t seem as prominent as it was in last year’s version. Either way, it’s a world class pils to me.

Forest & Main (Ambler, PA) - Dark Lager.

Mild roast, smooth feel, great drinkability.
