I very much agree with this assessment across the board.

Much to my chagrin, the cans are no longer distributed in NH last couple years.

I was fortunate to have MANY prior though, and very fresh for a while. My fave Helles. Cheers!

    1) Hop Butcher Presto Change-O (7.5% canned 2/7/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic and Simcoe for flavors of mixed berries, juicy pineapple, and sweet pine.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Lord Octopus (7.5% canned 1/30/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic for flavors of tropical berries, blueberries, cotton candy, light grassy, floral tones. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Hop Butcher Lord Octopus
: Another Hop Butcher IPA Battle. These are extremely similar. First is Presto Change-O. Tropical Mosaic with some of that Simcoe Resinous note. Very nice IPA. Next is Lord Octopus which is extremely similar, but all Mosaic here. The Mosaic in this beer is fantastic. It's all the melon and tropical blueberry flavors, but it has just enough that that berryflower brightness to make it clean and balance the sweetness. Close beer battle, but this Lord Octopus is fantastic. Couldn't have a better name or can art either.

Swang by my local store to buy me some hop water (because this is how I roll these days) and the guys at checkout were like "hey, we just got this, do you wanna split a can?". I'm like, I don't want to be rude. Nice and bready Pilsner.

Yes, very similar. I am still of the opinion that beers hold up and drink better from cans, so I think that could have some bias as well. Especially when comparing the two pours. I'll still buy them either way though.

In that case I'd best "hop' to it and crack another.

This Teku is for Tony. Regardless of his politics, sometimes prickly demeanor, etc... there never was, nor will be, any food critic like him or food shows like his.

I always thought when I retire I'd follow in his footsteps (a few stops behind so as not to be a stalker), wherever possible to enjoy that journey of life experiences through food, people, and beverages.

He probably narrated it better than I would have lived it haha.

Were the BB (can)/born-on (bottle) dates comparable?

As the cans are a US-only product, I guess there's not chance of comparing at the source unless you've got some serious clout. But I'd def agree - those glass bottles must've seen some light on their journey.

Oh you've set my mind a-racin', but I won't search. Things like Philly cheesesteak come to mind. Gotta be some kind of street food. Hopefully a bigger fan here has the answer. Cheers!

You're on the right track. It's a very simple food, but also effing delicious w/ legions of fans in a concentrated area of the U.S.

But I'll keep thinking. Please don't spoil till later. Someone will get it.
