On Tuesday I did one order for this month’s allocations and one cellar order.

The cellar order will arrive in MD next Tuesday (was 15 bottles for $40 so that is still a thing). I think the price increase is fairly new, first time I saw it.

No word at all on allocation order.

Oof,I hadn't heard about the increase to cellar shipping. That's a big hike.

Ordered Wednesday afternoon and it shipped yesterday then arrived today. That’s very rare as GSO usually takes 2 days to deliver all the way to NorCal. Happy to have new beers for the weekend!

Cinnamon is such and interesting adjunct. Had an M nice pie last night and found the cinnamon to be just a bitter in taste across the middle making the beer good not great (still, I appreciate anything with the wos base)
Opened a 2021 freckle today, and the cinnamon is brilliant as an addition with the base and the peppers. Definitely an under-appreciated brew (by me at least).

Found out why my order hasn't shipped: Desert Flora (and the other cans) are all pre-order for release later this month. It's there on the page and I missed it.

yeah turns out that’s is why my cellar shipped but allocations didn’t (had a 4 pack of IPA and was going to try a seltzer)

Last night I had a Rugbrod. Damn that beer is good.

Tonight I opened a 375ml of the 2018 Red Wine BT. Excellent. Malt forward with the wine supporting. Super mellow yet tons of flavor.

Has anyone tried the 2024 Melange 3 yet? This was the beer that got me into The Bruery way back in 2010 and remained my favorite beer from them for years. It also I think it is the beer that ages the best over time (along with BT). Curious how close they were able to get to the OG.

PSA - last three cans of Petite Provisions foamed over when opened. These are from the December batch with painted cans. Still taste normal. Would be wise to open over the sink.

Haven't tried it yet. But it was one of the reason I stayed on in RS, as a downgrade from HS. It was also a favorite of mine back in the day.

Also looking forward to Smoking Wood.

I will call out As Far As the Rye can See, as quite good.

So I have a mixed box of cellar and may allocations that I ordered on Monday and it shipped yesterday, due to be delivered on the 22nd next week, unfortunately to Wisconsin, with no Michigan shipping, then I just need to wait a month from then to pick up, at least it’s better than no shipping at all

I wish we could get some kind of estimate on timing. I am worried that there is a legal issue, and they simply will not be shipping to some more states again....

Another M floater post. Opened a bottle last night drank a bit and drinking a little more now. What I’m finding interesting is that I don’t taste any apple brandy barrel at all (Clearly, my palate issue). What I do get is a deep, gooey caramel chocolatey base that I am liking. I love when something is a part of a recipe and becomes something more than its self.

I'm in NC which has a similar shipping issue. My parents are coming to visit me (and their grandkids) from NY on 4th of July (via car), so I can ship to them next month and have them bring it, but it's really a last resort and not what I anticipated when I signed up for RS. My poor Dad's trunk is going to have like 15 750ML beers carefully packed in it.

It's weird because Other Half (and Halftime beverage) have had NC shipping set up for years now and haven't had any issues. The Bruery likely needs to set up an agreement with a local distributer (Bruery has a license to send to middleman and middleman sends to us) to get the licensing to work for the shipping. Maybe they can reach out to Other Half and find out who they use. Seems like two breweries would maybe work together on this kind of thing?

I don't know if true, or if applies to you, but I have heard in the past that some states have rules around the strength of beer being distributed. How strong are the beers from those other places? Bruery could be getting blocked by a law like that which most brewers wouldn't be affected by. I hope that's not the case cause I don't have a clue how they'd work around it legally.

Exactly what I did. My parents are visiting from IN the week after Memorial Day, so they are my mules hahaha

I need to double check but I suspect this is the case in NC....I remember hearing somewhere the Utopias can't be sold in NC due to alcohol content, and that NC has a "max ABV" for beer sales in the state, but I can't remember what the % was. But who knows. I am just planning on needing to ship the remainder of my included beers to IN at the end of the year, and then cancelling my membership for next year. Hopefully I am wrong though.

I’ve had beers shipped from Burial, and the have to blend them down to 15%, so that’s my guess on the abv max
