I doubt quantities will be adjusted. If Binnys can repeatedly sell BCBS at rock bottom prices it means they are either making a huge profit during the months of full retail and or the bargain basement bcbs prices are a loss leader that generate foot traffic increasing profit in other areas.

Definitely all stores, stocked up at Joliet. Also 30th Anniversary Reserve marked down to $15 from $40!!

The 30th finally got me in action so thanks for the heads up- absolutely loved my last one but wasn’t worth the higher price. I guess we’ll see the Eagle Rare and Angel’s Envy at $15 next year.

Just got an email from Binny's about the price drops. I haven't purchased any since Goose Island was bought, but it's not Binny's fault they're sitting on a tonne of product; these are reasonable prices that would send a signal about what Bourbon County is worth in the current competitive market. I would consider it if I was going to be in Chicagoland any time soon.

It is at least in part Binny's fault as they've been chronically mismanaging this product for several years now. They have been only selling the variants in the poorly managed Black Friday bundle deal which I suspect cost them a lot of customers (anecdotally, I haven't even entered their stupid drawing since 2021 and simply bought all the variants at Jewel) at the same time supply at other retailers increased. I'm hopeful Goose reduces production so it retains at least some of the historical limited release prestige it has had (and it's still quality for the most part although there have been a few clunkers of late) but long-term reducing the market share going to Binny's is a big win IMO.

Why? Who cares about prestige? I care about accessibility and price and right now it’s unbeatable at Binnys. How do you know this is Binnys fire sale and not InBev’s or their distributor trying to clear out storage space by using Binnys to liquidate it?

I'm going to try to only say this once a year. Imagine going back in time 10 years and telling past you that one day you could walk into a store AT ANY TIME and pick up a bottle of Bourbon County. You'd be so stoked, this is everything I've always wanted for BCS, I don't need to have a "cellar" in my basement, when I want a Bourbon County I can go to the store and just buy one and drink it. This feels like a fever dream.

I also want to say this.....after months of trying to clear out my cellar and opening 1-4 bottles of BCS a month the pasteurization process has absolutely killed the "develops in the bottle" aspect of Bourbon County. The only change in flavor I get from "vintage" Bourbon County now is oxidation and volatile flavor compounds (coffee, coconut, etc) dropping out. It's not worth sitting on this beer anymore. Time does it no favors.

Agreed. Big cardboard and raisin vibes. So it develops, just not they way most of us want.

Agreed, the days of waiting in line on BF or spending $$$ on the box set at Goose or Binny's is pretty much over (has been for a couple years now). Unfortunately BCS has turned into something rare and special to Dragon's Milk.

Kaleidoscope cuvée is thicker in the pour than banana fosters. Also thicker in general. Not confused just disappointed.

    A trio of new labels.
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Upside Down Cake Stout
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Cordial Stout
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Rye Stout

All three sound legit. My thoughts were upside down cake sounds more like a Prop story “My grandma used to make pineapple upside down cake…”. Maybe they feel it has a broader appeal? Surprised they haven’t done chocolate cherry prior as it seems like a no brainer with all the cherry combos they have done and chocolate beers.

Well, VR 2.0 is certainly happening. No doubt about that. They aren’t releasing that label without it being legit.

That’s exciting. 6 years since the last vanilla. BCBVBS 2.0 is drinking fantastic right now. I had one like 2 weeks ago, and to be honest, I couldn’t have asked for a better Vanilla BA stout experience.

There was also a VR keg label so yeah I'm thinking this one is likely good to go as well.

One more label. Although it's gotta be a 'fake', right.

It shouldn't take a beer 6 years to give that kind of experience.
