Yeast strains from afar...

    Does anyone know of any unique yeast strains from places we don't typically see them from? For instance are there Russian yeast strains? I'm sure they've been brewing for centuries in Russia, they must have their own yeast strains.

    That's the coolest looking airlock I have ever seen. At least I think it is one.

    Bummer. So is the skinny thing an airlock? Or a thermometer maybe?

    Does anyone know Russian? Can you email that guy and ask him where he gets his yeast? :slight_smile:

    His email address is on the page. Use google translate to ask if he speaks English. My guess is he does.

    I am a big fan of eastern block porters so would be interested to know if there are any unique yeast strains being used for them.
