I believe it's hiding right off frame underneath the sprig of parsley. Still, a pretty measly portion if you ask me!

While that looks pretty tasty, nothing beats a Münchner Frühstuck at the Schneiderhaus, al Fresco, on a nice Spring morning.

I'm down with the OP's idea of german food and beer pairing, but for me it'd be a quality Doppelbock (celebrator or korbinian) paired with a pork schnitzel and spaetzel with paprika cream sauce, and it'd be during the sunset/dusk period of day.

at the lake house in NH, out on the dock, playing some Doors music and kicking back with a Smuttynose. Don't get much better.

Fresh Fruit, Southwestern Omlette, hashbrowns with a good Coffee Stout.(Berkshire Coffeehouse or FBS)

Long bike ride or jog outside. Followed by a pastrami/reuben sandwich with onion strings and a nice IPA/DIPA (Pliny,Sucks,Union Jack,Finest Kind).

Afternoon at the beach with a mix of Belgian Whites (Allagash) and session IPA/PAs. (Dales, Ipswich, blind pig, Shoals)

A BBQ (ribs, pork, sausage) Corn on the Cobb, roasted potatoes. With some RIS, DIPA, and Belgian Tripels/Quads/Saisons.

    BED.

Am I getting a little old or am I not the only one who couldn't have french toast and an imperial stout for breakfast then go on an 8 mile hike? More like an 8 hour nap. Give me a small bowl of oatmeal, some raw almonds, and some whey protein and I'm ready to go, other than that I feel heavy and ready for a sugar crash. Beer and super sugar-laden carbo bombs+vigorous exercise...not for me.

Anyways an ideal session is me and my girl sharing bottles out of the cellar, or having a backyard bbq with family and friends, starting in the late afternoon and rolling late into the evening, with many a top notch beer along the way. Same as most I suppose.

Stumbling around the enlightened streets of Sheffield usually does it for me.

Just had one though only had 6 different beers.I haven't got the capacity for beer that I had once.
Can't help thinking that some replies verge on fantasy. You can't have a session worthy of the name drinking some of the beers mentioned because they are far too strong.Even the ones I've had (around 5% ABV) have left me struggling a bit!

Hello. My choice would be in Scotland. BrewDog bar in the early part of the day, single malt distillery tour in the evening. That's on the reality side of the ledger. On the fantasy side, Natalie Portman to my left holding an Avery Mephistopheles, Winona Ryder to my right holding a Founders KBS and me in the middle holding a BrewDog Hardcore IPA......enough said.

Nice. Last time I was at the Spezial Keller (pic #2 above) the sun was setting and my half-German son was playing on the freshly mowed meadow just below the beergarden. I looked up from my beer and saw that he and about a dozen German kids had built a weird sort of grass hut and were playing in it. Was pretty magical.

Eating my Wheaties covered in Founders Breakfast Stout with a side of Coffee stout and a little Bitter Woman for the citrus effect. No more than a juice glass of the IPA, though. Then, a bike trip starting in Northwestern Germany, hitting the local eateries for some Doppelbocks, and ending the day in Belgium, where I would start with Duvel and work my way up the number scale to Quads. Preferably, I could hit a couple of Belgian Monastaries, where I could pick up some brewing tips and perhaps some yeast strains from some knowing monks.

Somewhere in the north of England...perhaps spending an evening on Lindisfarne (though not sure of the cask options available there), in Masham, drinking at the Black Sheep Brewery, or somewhere local where their ales are on, or somewhere up in Northumberland where the brews from Wylam, Durham, and Black Sheep breweries are available. Ugh, I miss England...

Watching one of my favorite bands up close while pints of big whale beers are constantly feed to me. All ending in a romp with a hot chick.
