Other BAs you didn’t know you knew

Nope. Not me.

 

At this point I’d be more surprised if I haven’t somehow run into one of youse bums while out enjoying a few.

…books, of course. At the library. Or bookstore. Or the library’s bookstore.

 

I have a boring one that fits one of the examples. Back when I was homebrewing, I found out a coworker did also. We talked a little bit, and he happened to have a BA account. He wasn't very active here, but he did take the time to make an account before I met him.

So yeah, straightforward and as I said, boring, but I figure I'd give at least one positive post

In a tangentially related topic that @elNopalero brought up, once a BA (@BJB13) saw a post I made from DC Brau when he happened to be there, and he found us and introduce himself. We had a fun conversation and we ended up meeting up two (maybe three?) other times.

I had what you might call a near-miss on July 9, 2020. I had stopped at Binny's new location in Peoria after adding it to the database, then picked up some carry-out (Portillo's, IIRC) and went back to the motel. When I logged in later to add my review, I noticed that @FBarber had already added a review that day. I messaged him and told him that the idiot standing in the middle of the parking lot with the camera was me taking a picture for the BA database. Turns out he was there a few hours earlier than I was. Close call, though.

You discovered it when completing an IP trade at your own house.

 

Except for a few close circle of friends that we all got into BA about the same time together (I’m the only one that is a forum person), I can’t say I’ve met or recall anyone in public conversation who is an active BA member, but I’m going to plan make more of an effort to disclose that I’m a very active member on Beer Advocate to see if anyone else is active on here in passing conversations.

 

Oh I remembered now I worked at the Spirits Unlimited in Manahawkin NJ from 2016-2018 and a coworker there had an untappped and possibly BA account I still remember the name it was “whiteyjohnson”. Guys name is Dave. Good guy a bit older than me knew a lot about craft beer and N/As but he hasn’t been around for several years

 

Several years ago I was having a beer at the local dive bar, they had a tv which was showing who was checking in on Untapppd, he pointed to the screen and said "hey, that's me'n you". We were the only two people there. Does that count?

 

You don't wear them around the house, too?

 

Same parent company, so, yes!
