Not a breakfast beer @Todd, but at least a lunch one. I've been gone a lot, we'll see if today turns into a classic JamFuel Saturday. Anyway, a Canadian beer in honor of @GreenBayBA. Wisconsin is basically Canada, right?

Along with music from the greatest thing to come out of Canada besides Terrence & Philip.

It wasn't a breakfast beer, but I had a just after midnight libation to celebrate the end of my first week at my new job.
pFriem Japanese Lager is very tasty and delightfully dry and crisp.

I am so happy to see you return! Wisconsin is actually pronounced "wis-scan-sin" which is Algonquin for, "The southern north."

I'm a bit rusty, forgot to post this. Namu Lager by local brewery Sibbarps. A lager made with apples, ginger and lemon to complement Asian food. Very interesting.

1664 in a smaller and not fitting proper glassware I snagged 22 years ago when I was working in a bar. Fair compensation, it’s not an easy job.

    Good Afternoon BA's.
A small comparison test, two lagers brewed in countries with a warmer climate.
Both being produced with Rice (next to the traditional ingredients).

The clasic Estralla Damn from Barcelona, 250 ml bottle, 4,6% abv.
And the Chang Clasic from Thailand. 320 ml bottle at 5% abv.

    How do they compare?

Pictures shows it already:Both very pale yellow coloured. Carbonation and head way better on the Chang.
Estrella malty notes, little skunky, in the smell, some sweet flowerly undertones
Chang smells more malty, also a little skunky, but more pleasant, with a bit more hoppy bitterness.
For a 4,6% lager Estrella is quite rich in taste, good balance in between malts and hops, nice crips bitter after taste. Yet the mouthfeel is a bit thin.
Chang has some interesting sweet malty mid-tones. Notes of sugar-cane sugar and a less bitter after taste. Mouthfeel is way more creamy than Estrella.

    Both are decent lagers.

Winner is Chang based on looks and mouthfeel.
Tastewase of course it is quite personal. I can imagine some people like the lower ABV, the freshness and the bitterness of Estralla. However, Chang is no less refreshing and tastewise quite an interesting lager.

Of course the second bottles will always tell you more. Keep you posted if my opinion changes.
