Doesn't Zillacoah not allow under 21?

They are all ages/family friendly… and the person looking for recommendations in this thread was talking about a family of adults.

Wedge (both locations are in the RAD) and hiwire has their beer garden/tiki room there as well

There’s always attention when things are new. We used to park at Burial (2pm days) and walk to get in line for WW opening. After the sellout the Weed isn’t what it used to be. It’s all too expensive. Most places that close don’t have a flagship beer. I’m glad Burial is still around and expanding. SN isn’t the same post C.

Was in W-S on a Sat night, went to Foothills- 2 versions of Sexual Chocolate on but it was dead at 10p.

    it’s all too expensive….

Two of the “newer” breweries that we visited on our last trip in 2023 were Cursus Keme and Zillicoah. Both were off the beaten path a bit but worth searching for. Zillicoah as @zid mentioned has some solid lagers. Cursus Keme was the spouse’s favorite and had a nice vibe with live music.
Was surprised and bummed initially that Bhramari closed but it sounds like they are actually in the process of reinventing….. I had a Märzen there last visit that was world class.

How's the Asheville version of TRVE? The Denver location is one of my favorite spots, although I can imagine the vibe isn't for everyone. Seems like the Denver ownership/management team moved east, so they're clearly taking that location pretty seriously.

A five minute walk from my Air BnB in July… I’ll be reporting back for sure.

One of the owners is originally from the area, and had worked at several locally breweries before moving to Denver at some point. They originally were looking to locate near New Origin and Curses Keme, but permitting in a flood plain were apparently an issue, but when Eurisko was closing, they jumped in to buy the brewery.

Not sure they're going to make it. Was there on Friday at 5:30 to pregame before a sold out Asheville Tourists game. Only 2 other customers there and they are the closest brewery to the stadium. Their beer is decent, but they need to do something to draw more people in.

Definitely into this kind of feedback (will clarify that EJ headed up marketing at Wicked Weed and Burial, helping to build AVL into the great beer town it is, something we’re hoping to add to).

We’ve got weekly events going already with Silverball Sub drops every Monday and beer and shot specials, Game Night (partnered with Gamer’s Haunt) every Tuesday, monthly food pop ups, support for several metal shows with more in the pipeline, a killer cocktail program via our buds at Nightcrawler, a curated wine list, plenty of NA options…to say nothing about how we’re using almost all North Carolina malt and have already released collabs with Burial, Cellarest, and Fonta Flora, with Zillicoah, Diatribe, and 12 Bones in the works.

I’ve also finally got decocted lagers in the pipeline with three set to packaging in the next month.

What else would y’all like to see?

I love you guys are using local NC malt. Traditional lagers too! Kudos to you!

When one of the owners had a kid, they opened back up to allowing kids at the brewery. All ages now.

Who's got the best west coast IPA game in the south slope? Or Asheville in general? I'm trying to close out this school year, and daydreaming about brewery hopping next week is the only thing going for me right now.

It’s been a minute since I’ve been there, but Wedge brewing has some nice IPAs including a West Coast. Of course, the big boys such as wicked weed and Sierra Nevada always have some nice options.

Not sure where the killer cocktail program was...Beefeaters was the only Gin choice. The curated wine list at $16/pour was a little pricey for my wife who ended up drinking water.

Burial and TRVE are both good choices.

I’ve had two chances to drop in this week, and I’m really impressed. All three beers I had were really clean and delicious: a pale ale, an IPA and an IPL. This was really refreshing, coming from a part of the country that’s all about the haze.

    Servers were really friendly too.

If I lived nearby it would be toward the top of my list.
