Fun and interesting fact: Gary Numan is older than Gary Oldman (British actor).

    Buongiorno,
Many of you would have liked this beer, I'm pretty sure.
Quality costs a little more, but if it is true quality you can feel it.
CRAK Brewery (Campodarsego, ITA) - WOODSCRAK 2024 - Double Dry Hopping IPA (7%)
Annual beer with a recipe that changes every year and celebrated on June 1st of the brewery with a dedicated event at the agricultural estate where it is located in the province of Padua (outdoor tastings, yoga activities in the hop grove, tent space to spend the night in the farm, etc).
    Curiosity:
Under the label of the can there are all the indications of how the event took place: from the beers (and wines) that were available, to the times at which the different musical bands took turns, from the sandwich menu with the indication of every single ingredient, at the costs of the individual activities... Everything on the can, under the can label. - I'll steal the space for another photo.

This year's WOODSCRAK is a Double Dry Hopped India Pale Ale "massively hopped" with STRATA (USA), EL DORADO (USA), CITRA (USA) and MOTUEKA (New Zealand → genetics of native New Zealand hops + Saaz) hops.
On the label: "Packaging date: 04/30/2024 - Best before: 10/30/2024".

As soon as the can is opened, there are immediately fresh and fragrant aromas of citrus fruits (grapefruit, ripe orange), peach and tropical fruits (mango, pineapple), which expand with the pouring (in three stages) in the pint (especially citrus fruits)
When poured it is golden, opaque but not excessively so and produces little foam.
In the mouth, a medium-bodied beer with a light carbonation in the background that makes drinking easier.
The taste is fragrant and enveloping.
Citrus fruits are found (especially grapefruit) but also sweeter and more tropical notes such as pineapple, litchi and passion fruit. But what dominates is the citrus taste that emerges again in the finish, making this beer end with a well-marked bitterness (without being excessive) and which remains well imprinted on the tongue, drying out the drink and ending up absorbing that fruity aftertaste that remains in the palate.
Honestly: I was thinking of a more "modern style" beer, therefore very fruity and with a finish that left room only for the aromas, but instead it has a nice bitter finish with a light persistence... just to be felt by everyone. Personally, I appreciated it.
Very tasty and pleasant to drink, different from a common standard level product.

This is a fairly clear pouring beer, and golden in color. A bit of carbonation bubbles rise in the glass to produce a 1 finger white head. The head retention is ok, and a small bit of lacing on the glass.
A hit of funk hits me upon my first whiff of this beer. Hints of baked bread also show through. Faint citrus notes also show up.
Taste - There's a light wild flavor here. Hints of green apple show up and it is nice and tart, yet mellow at the same time. Some citrus notes also show up with a hint of pineapple. Baked bread notes also stop by to say hi.
Very bubbly feeling. Quite crisp. Decent fullness.
    Tasty and refreshing overall.

Porch drinking from the bottle. I hope nobody judges. The grapefruit notes of this beer (which is my favorite hoppy beer from RR) is total breakfast material.

I can't speak for Ohio, and while CPS students would likely say Summer starts tomorrow after their last day of school (parochial students are already out), most Chicagoans, fashionistas, and likely a majority of Americans beyond our fair city consider Memorial Day through Labor Day interpretation of the Summer season, versus a strict astrological take.

That said, I always celebrate Summer Solstice.

Old Growth - High Pines Brewing - Roseville, MN - American IPA - 7.8%

My friend Tim picked this up for me when he was there. I am grateful he did, but, this is a sad beer just lacking flavor. What I got was good, but there's so little there.

look: 4.25 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.25From a 750ml crawler. No date on it, but my friend picked it up Memorial Day weekend.

This beer is a nice looking dark amber color and is somewhat murky looking. There's a thick 2 finger slightly off white head. Frothy looking and has decent retention. There's a bit of lacing on the glass.
The nose is not very strong, and I left it out of the fridge a good half hour for it to warm up a bit. I get a very faint pine aroma, but it is super faint.
Taste - Well, sadly, the taste is a lot like the nose: faint. First off, what I'm getting doesn't taste bad at all. I get a very faint pine flavor. There's a slight roasted malt flavor. There is a bit of a build of bitterness on the back, but, again, faint.
Yeah, there's a bit of bubbly feeling. There's a bit of bitterness on the back. Body is decent.
This beer is a let down. What I got wasn't bad, but I got so damn little off it. Kinda sad
