Yeah you are fkn amazing- hidden face, hidden profile just a standard for blowing crap up and hiding. Yeah the people that believe in things will stand behind them, whether it's emotional or not. The weak ones hide and spout crap. It's pretty common now.

Thanks for taking the low road. My profile isn’t hidden. Never has been. Never will be. If you’d like to, you can private message me for my email.

Your profile pic doesn’t show your face either. Not sure what that has to do with anything, but whatever.

I’ve stated otherwise how many times now!? Look, we have our differences but we’re humans.

Again, you may private message me for my contact information, picture, anything you’d like. I have nothing to hide.

Now if you’d excuse me, this conversation has taken a rather odd turn and I have business to attend to tonight. :beers:

That gives people more opportunity to focus on men’s mental health month.

if a teacher thought a child was at legitimate risk they would have already called child protective services as they have a legal responsibility to do so

Yup horrible and I'd like to apologize to all for spouting shit that doesn't belong on BA. I'm a stern believer in just keeping it to mainly beer and I broke my own rule. Sorry about that

You’re right, Republican, Democrats, they are equally bad, but what would you expect from people who lie for a living?

Let’s say you are a teacher and you have no reason to believe your student is at risk at home—because you’re an educator, not a social worker—so you report that the student has requested to change their pronouns at school, because the state you live in does not have a law in effect like the one in California (a law I wasn’t even aware of before today). And then the student suffers severe consequences at home because of your reporting. Is it really going to matter to you that you weren’t aware that the student has been living in an abusive environment, or are you just going to feel partly responsible for what ended up happening? Who cares if someone wants to be called by different pronouns? Who does that actually harm?

The thing is that the same state is passing a law saying that gende dysphoria is a medical condition that a parent must treat or they are abusive. Are there other medical conditions that schools shouldn't inform parents?

This might be naive, but shouldn’t teachers be educating students and doctors be diagnosing/treating medical conditions? It’s not unlike the position police often find themselves in—having to resolve domestic disputes, drug counseling, social work, and oh, also occasionally enforcing the law. Yes, as I said previously schools occupy a unique position in our communities and they are asked to serve a lot of disparate functions—but their primary role has to be educating students. It seems political leaders want teachers and schools to play a lot of unrelated roles that they really aren’t equipped to handle, so that the leaders have someone to scapegoat. They’re putting teachers and schools in an impossible, no-win situation.
