Yeah, the last decade or so hasn't produced as much memorable music as their earlier work, but in concert they still absolutely make party. So, that combined with a bit of nostalgia and the new Goose spot opening that day made it an easy choice.

Dapper Rye- a DB rye stout for $20/4 pack just hit my bottle shop. Value alone has me intrigued. Anyone check this one out?

Looks like GI sent out an email announcing this for an Oznr release later this week. Looks like a good beer.

I received the same. I’m assuming they are no longer sending out MBA emails, since I didn’t receive one for their grand opening or anything else since they closed Clybourn.

In the past they also had GI Clybourn anniversary specials in terms of draft offerings (typically BCBS variants / cellar offerings) and throwback prices like dollar house brewed beers, free glassware and or a few food specials. Hope these will return at the new location, either for GI Anniversaries or perhaps starting next year once they are fully up and running including their brewery operation, for their new Salt Shed May 3 Anniversary.

Seems like it would be a smart strategy to keep longtime MBA customers in the loop, but perhaps many are like me and don’t really go much since they closed and remodeled the OG location, so it’s not worth their time or effort.

Just ordered my Dapper Rye. I'm finding myself much more enticed by these BA 4-packs than BCBS these days.

Cannot beat that 12oz format, that’s why Half Acre, Revolution and 3F scoop up my barrel aged budget.
Dapper Rye is already hitting distro so I’ll pick it up at Binny’s for $18.99.

Dapper Rye is pretty outstanding. I’m contemplating a second 4 pack.

Their "Talk Talk" EP was the best hip-hop release of 2023.

Wild to me that I've been listening to them since 1997 ~ for 27 years at this point.

Concur. These $20 four packs (cuvee, husk) are incredibly good, reasonably priced, and easily attainable.

Finally got around to a) purchasing Dapper Rye and b) having it. Not breaking any news which has not already been reported above but, damn, this is delicious. And look, I still have a couple dollars in the pocket. Nice. And while enjoying the beer, I've now committed to never purchasing an overpriced BCBS ever again. And I have Goose Island to thank for this.

Yeah, these sort of feel like GI's answer to the "why are the BCBS variants so expensive" question. They're churning out low-key bangers at a very approachable price point, and aren't hyping them the way they do BCBS. I've always sort of looked sideways at these beers of theirs, but every time I've tried one, I've been impressed.

Is there any way to know what's on tap at the Fulton Taproom without trying to decipher through Untappd check-ins? I believe they used to post the list in Untappd but that no longer seems to be the case and it's not posted online either.

Separately, unless I'm missing something, it seems as though the tap list at the Salt Shed is a shadow of the former Clybourn location.

I'll be in town next week and it would be nice to know what's available before I pay for an Uber to one of the locations. Any help/guidance/feedback is greatly appreciated!

Salt Shed put their beer menu back online. I hope they return to a solid list of options brewed at the Salt Shed, but hopefully it's just them ramping up the brewing to get to that stage.

Both places have QR codes, but unfortunately Fulton doesn't link to their public facing website. I wasted a trip to Fulton in March, because their untappd menu stated they had a More Barleywine collaboration which kicked the previous day, and they only updated QR and their manual board.

unfortunately I think you’ve nailed the situation here. Not sure why, but their tap list is no longer on Untappd. Disappointing, a place like that should have their tap list findable online in some fashion

I wasted a trip to Fulton at the same time on 2/28 expecting the collab to be available only to be disappointed on arrival. Definitely part of the reason for my questions this time!

I guess it is what it is...disappointing seems like a bit of an understatement given that it was available previously. The Salt Shed menu isn't worth the trip in my opinion, maybe they'll get there eventually, so was hoping to see what Fulton might have instead. Definitely a miss overall.

Yeah I noticed this a month or so ago, very disappointing and not sure I get the logic.

I used to randomly check it all the time and stop by if there was something interesting/fun on tap.

Now? I'll probably stop by way less.
