An hour and a 1/2 at the pool was plenty of sun for today…on the balcony with another Head Hunter IPA:



I’ve got my big ass blasting away because at 6:30pm the temp has only dialed back to 96°. The “feels like” is surely above 100°. Two more weeks of SW FL then I’m heading up north for the rest of the summer - Cheers y’all!

Inside in the nice 77 degree A/C. The wife has another 3 day weekend so a Skrewball shot is in order, with a Captain's Daughter.

 

It was a fairly nice Friday in the morning after what they consider a heat wave with 3 days in the high 90s before. Serious storms that brought in crazy rain and lighting. Sipping this amazing NEDIPA from Modestman Brewing. Can looks like an Alchemist collaboration but maybe a tribute to the beer that changed craft beer more than any I have ever seen.

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass, not sure when it was canned. Pours a gorgeous hazy milky yellow with a solid finger sticky white head that leaves plenty of lace, with excellent retention. 5

Aroma papaya, passionfruit, tangerine, a whiff of blueberry, and apricot. 4.75

Taste follows passionfruit, tangerine, papaya, blueberry, and apricot really balanced. 4.75

Mouthfeel is large even at 8.5% maybe the 3DH lent a hand, soft creamy carbonation, not sticky or dry, and it is tasty and near perfect you have try and slow down. 4.75

Overall a wow brew for me. I tried one of the first batch but I feel this one is a slightly better batch for my liking. 4.75 Cheers All.

Modist/Drekker Collab Death Sauce Painkiller Tropical Sour, 7.5% ABV. Pours hazy orange with a slight ring of light-orange bubbles that left no lacing. Aroma is pineapple, orange, brown sugar, nutmeg and vanilla. Taste follows, plus coffee and coconut, nutmeg very present, quite sweet, slightly tart. Decent mouthfeel if a bit thin, overall excellent. I could do without the coffee in a sour, lost points for that. Would be a true painkiller if it was Rum BA.

I like painkiller beers and seltzers, and the nose and first sip convinced me this would be outstanding....until the coffee lurched into the picture. It's not overly strong, but just odd enough to put a damper on an otherwise outstanding sour.

We're about to have lakefront property! We live about a quarter mile from the river that runs through the state park our yard borders, and when we get lots of rain or snow-melt, the field in-between us and the river turns into a lake that comes close to our property. Luckily our lot is a good 30ft above that, so we won't flood. We've had boaters in 'our lake'. We had over five inches of rain in the last 24 hours and are supposed to get another 2.5 tonight, and was already a wet year.
