I walk many miles every week and I'd walk many miles for many things, but I would not walk a single mile just for a beer. There's simply too much good beer around.

Edit: Wait, there's one exception. Timothy Taylor Landlord no longer is distributed to my area. I miss it. I love that beer and I don't think I've ever even had it fresh. I've certainly never had it on cask. If someone told me that a place had fresh Landlord on cask and the only way to get there was to walk, I'd probably be willing to hoof it for a few miles.

Some folks have discussed the need to walk to the refrigerator to get their beer. This enterprising young fellow has solved that 'issue':

Jokingly so of course, beer has to be sort of a reward after all.

Though we used to discuss palate fatigue many years ago and our friend @Squire pointed out the only thing that could fatigue him was carrying the packs or cases back to the car trunk.

Given I walk so many miles for mediocre beer, I feel like favorite would be a high number. I don’t drive to breweries as a general rule, I walk 1-5 miles to them all the time and/or leverage public transit. GFY Texas with your crappy unwalkable streets.

farthest I think I’ve walked was from the Russian River pub to Russian River Windsor (10ish miles)

I would be in the 2-3 miles camp but with caveats.

I would wait and have waited in line for beer, Pliny the Younger. Worth the wait, not just the beer but also the chit chat going on.

The hotel I stayed in in Santa Rosa was about a mile from the Russian River brewpub, ai always walked that. I would buy the cases when they opened, dropped them off in the coolers at the hotel and go back for drinking.

I’ve waited in line about a mile for beer before. Took about eight hours during a certain hype brewery’s anniversary release during the height of the line life era. Not recommended. Plus the beers were ...

That was one of the few beers I waited in line at Monk’s Cafe in Philadelphia.

ps-Now that I think about it the only other places I waited in line were at the original location of Other Half in Brooklyn and Treehouse in the farmhouse.

My house is located next to the Hop Triangle in Surf City, USA. No not Santa Cruz. The officially named city Huntington Beach. And the Hop Triangle is not official. I call it my Hop Triangle. I am approximately 3 to 3 1/2 miles from Green Cheek Sunset Beach depending if you walk the streets or walk through the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. My Buddy and I have walked the Hop Triangle twice now. From my house through the wetlands to GCSB, had lunch and a pour there. Maybe a pour and half? Walked a mile to RiiP PCH. Then walked another 1 3/4 miles to Beachwood Pizza and back to my house, another mile. Around 6+ miles. I call it walk for beer day. Other than that I walk to Beachwood Pizza many times for lunch and or pours. I’m lucky I have three great breweries near me. :beers:

    Less than 100 yards.

I don't have whales, imports and domestic packaged beer makes up most of my diet lately. I plan to drive to some new places this summer.

There is a decent microbrew in walking distance but I always manage to get a ride home, even when I have the dog. Cheers.

    Burns calories before beer!

Within a five mile radius I have two Nightshift locations, a distillery, multiple brewery beer gardens in the summer, a world class beer bar, Bear Moose brewing, Aeronaut Brewing, two Remnant Brewing locations, Cambridge Brewing Company, Sam Adams, two Lamplighter locations, Idle Hands, Medford Brewing, Faces Brewing and Portico Brewing. I’m sure I’m forgetting some too.

    Notch is technically 5.2 miles…

When I was first looking for a condo many years ago, I looked at a neighborhood that was about 75 yards from a brew-pub.

And not just any brew-pub, but one where I knew the brewers and owners very well and helped brew on occasion.

I contemplated the idea for approximately 30 seconds and decided against it.

Lol I'm a drinker with a hiking problem. I typically hike uphill a few miles / and 1 or 2k vertical, then have a beer. Then hike down. So yes.
