A local brewery in our small town is festitious about proper glassware. However, for special events when the street gets closed, our town suspends the open container rules. The brewery breaks out the plastic, but they ask you first if you are going out in the street or staying within their property and pour accordingly.
In this situation I really don't mind the plastic cups if I can go out and watch a parade or peruse the farmers market with a local beer in my hand.

Yeah, that’s a horde of a different color. I’m cool with the plastic in that situation.

IF the TVs are on and the sound is muted, keep it to sports or put the CC on otherwise turn that shit off. I am glad that there are different establishments based on your level of involvement with others and or sports.
Everyone else has pretty much covered the basics...don't get me started on kids swimming around your feet @ a pool bar when signs are clearly posted no children in the pool bar area...well I would get up from my sunken stool to use the lavatory but I may trip over your pocket pets that have been swimming and splashing about so I'll just stay put and, order another and deposit the others right where I'm at ...enjoy kids :wink:

Why anyone would ever go into a pool bar is a mystery for the ages.

Vacation, at a resort, when in Rome. Concept is great, usually out of the blazing sun but once again people ruin a good thing. Kids or no kids rarely see many if any heading to the lavatory :grimacing:

I hear ya! My wife and I both have arthritis in the back and various joints. In addition, we both have artificial hips. Sitting on hard metal that does not conform to your butt is a bit too much. In a recent out of state trip, we went to a brewery that I wanted to try. It had high top industrial metal tables and non-ergonomic stools. There was no A/C and it was 90+ outside. Only one fan was blowing in a very large room. My poor wife was so uncomfortable, we had to leave after just one beer. What ever happened to the padded bar stools of my youth?

I think you missinterprtedted my comment. I mean owners that sit there on there laptop, don't look up, avoid people and every now and then tell the bar keeps something they are doing wrong.
Yes, I have seen this more than once.

Along with the prices, please list the pour size. I've been to breweries where each order is a gamble on which size will be served and the mystery price solved when closing out the tab.

I sympathize but the simple answer is cost to buy and then replacement.

Here is one thought. I unapologetically keep a camp chair in my car. Now, I only ever bring it out at my local but if it really came to it and maybe as I get older I might start asking places if I can bring it out and use it.

I didn't even know such things existed. :grimacing:

How does one prevent their beer from becoming light-struck out in the open like that?

And the typical chlorine & plastic stench of pools doesn't affect one's taste?

We went with the son's family to a resort in Mexico. The in-pool bar was handy for an occasional AAL-style beer (breaking a years-long avoidance). To my surprise, the Bohemia clara tasted very good. I spotted a woman at the bar drinking a milkshake and asked her how to order one. I asked the bartender for two "heladas batido", and in a few minutes the grandkids had their treat.

I recently went to a brewery and the pour sizes were not noted. The glass sizes seem to have gotten smaller since the last time I stopped in. Is that possible?

Beer style (even if it's just a close approximation), pour size, abv, and price should be clearly indicated for all offerings.

Yes! Please make your menu/board like a highway sign and not a novel.

Yes: Joe Blow's Beer- Canadian Style Lager 5% abv

No: Joe Blow's Beer- For those hot summer days when you've mowed the overgrown lawn with your old trusty push mower and need something to reward yourself that all chore's are done for the day. Our brewer has been searching for the best beer to give you the Dad of the Year prize and we think this is the one you're really going to enjoy! Order this one now if you're really thirsty!

My pet peeve is people complaining about how the brewery isn’t exactly the way they want it. Stop going if you don’t like it. Problem solved. Otherwise drink your beer and keep to yourself. Or don’t. It’s a free country.

This applies to any establishment, but high stools/chairs that don’t have a foot rest. My legs start to hurt after about 20 minutes on those.

Automatic 15% gratuity added onto my bill when I didn't get "service" and by that I mean pints were not tapped then brought to our tables. I ordered a pint, bartender turned around and poured it, turned back around and gave it to me. I will tip as I see fit.
