I have only had the pleasure of drinking beers from The Seed at beer events and at a restaurant in Cape May but every one of those beers was excellent.

Based on these experiences I would recommend that you add The Seed to the list:

I would also recommend a visit to The Seed. I visited the last time I was in AC. Chill taproom, great beers. But a heads up they are only open Wednesday to Sunday.

Also check out Tony Boloneys for Pizza and Subs

Fermentery Form is open Saturdays and maybe occasionally Wednesdays?

Personally, I’d skip lunch at the market and eat at Human Robot—Poe’s Sandwich Joint is sick, and it will buy you time to try more HR beers.

Also: Seed is great. Maybe a sketchy walk to get there.

Came to recommend the seed as well. Top notch lager, hops, & saison. Very chill space too.

You may have heard of this place…it’s called The Seed.

I’ve never been to the brewery but have tried a bunch of their beers and they are all excellent so I concur with every other poster in this thread.
I do have a small suggestion about your drive down. Skip The Source and go to Carton. And, if you’re a lager guy, try to fit Birdsmouth in. Cheap price point, very clean lagers. Like, almost too easy to drink. Carton, I have a special place in my heart for their beer, so, yeah go there.

The lovely @alexsergio has been nice enough to transfer me a mixed 12-pack from the brewery which gave me an excellent chance to sample their styles (prob about 2 years ago) and, I don’t know how familiar you are with NY stores but he also got some from Halftime in Mamaroneck and I got some from DeCicco’s in Larchmont and Hop Scotch in Deer Park (LI) which may have been a one-off. I have not had a bad beer from them.

Carton is on the way to Long Branch, on Rt. 35, so that may be an option before lunch (they open at 12 on Sunday).

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Trip was great. We did not make it to all spots on the itinerary, and added some spots on the fly.

    Highlights include:

    Day 1 in Monmouth County

Windmill (legendary Jersey Shore footlong hotdogs and cheese fries)

Source -- excellent farmhouse brewery with fun space/vibe for hanging out

Kane - fabulous IPAs and barrel aged stouts

Pete & Eldas -world's greatest thin crust pizza, and Kane's head High on draft

    Day 2 in Atlantic City

Tony's Baltimore Grill --old school Italian joint -- great chicken parm, meatballs, etc. Excellent Seed IPA on draft. Waitress Amy sassed our crew like a performance artist.

    Day 3 in Atlantic City

    Yummy breakfast at Gilchrist's.

Fun day on the beach in AC.

Fabulous Mexican dinner at Pancho's Mexican Taqueria, an authentic hole in the wall.

    Day 4 in Philly

Lunch at Reading Terminal Market --everyone found something they liked, cheesesteaks, turkey sandwiches, vegetarian options, etc.,

Tour of Eastern State Penitentiary - fun and interesting tour of America's oldest prison.

Human Robot in North Philly - we grabbed a round or two at this fab authentic purveyor pf German and Czech pilsners and lagers. Outstanding beers and fun vibe--reminded us of our favorite local spot Notch in Salem, MA. They gave our crew a complimentary milk tubes of foamy beer--a yummy and generous gesture!

Dinner @ Monk’s Cafe - a highlight of our trip was a stop at this world class Belgian restaurant and beer bar. We enjoyed pints of Pliney the Elder, Pliney for President 2024, etc. at the bar while we waited for our table. We were seated at a round table. We shared three different types of yummy muscles and a variety of fab entrees. World class beers continued to flow during dinner. Russian River Consecration was a special treat. Amazing experience at a reasonable price.

We grabbed bottles of Russian River sours at Foodery liquor store on our way out of town. What a treat!

I was just up in New England, and stopped at Notch's Brighton location. I thought the same thing as someone who is a Human Robot regular - that the two breweries have a similar vibe and quality of beer.

Glad you had a good trip, always good to hear a follow-up report.

Thanks man. When we mentioned Notch to the bartenders at Human Robot, they tipped their caps to Notch as an OG brewery for their styles of beer.

When you hit the beach, make sure to bring some Rum Ham. It’s a Jersey Shore thing when classy people from Philly take vacation over there.
