Not including actually drinking it, how much time a day/week would you say you spend on beer websites, shopping, organizing the cellar, working on trades, etc. I'm fairly new to this world and I'm wondering of I spend too much time involved in all of this.

Between looking up stuff, organizing(cellar, trades,BT list) and talking to buddies and BA's

    Time flies..

Not sure if it's a true measure, but shit-ton would be my estimation of my time spent.

Probably around 10 hours a week on average. That mostly on trips to get beer and this website.

Too much, definitely, but at the same time not enough. Confused?

Add the growing passion I have for home brewing, there is so much more to learn. And I tend to be just a tad OCD about research. It is no doubt a black hole for me. Drink a new beer, spend an hour learning about the brewery. Learn about a style, well you have to learn the history. Add all the technical aspects of HB...oh yeah...I got a disease....

30 minutes on beer shopping, a few hours on BA, 5-10 hours on consumption. Nearly all of the consumption time occurs on the weekend.

More time than I probably should, but I enjoy every minute of the insanity. Between the drinking and website, I also brew on occasion and run a tasting group in NH. Always fun though.

When you hear "Beer ****, again?" and "No, we don't have time to go to the beer aisle . . ." on a consistent basis? I would say the right amount of time.

Not nearly as long as your average BA.

When my lady started saying this I passed it off...now that my parents say it when I visit I should consider my "habbit"

It's what I hear every time I reach for the laptop. I mean it takes time and commitment to go through the " What are you drinking now?" posts! :grinning: My girlfriend is actually quite supportive. She just reminded me that I called it beer **** first, lol. She thinks it's great that I have a hobby that I can share with other enthusiasts, because she doesn't like beer. She does like the 3 Floyds bottles . . . we keep one of each I try.

If i'm not cooking, driving, flying, sleeping or drinking, I'm researching beer, surfing home brew vids/forums, on BA, organizing beer in fridge, buying beer or fantasizing about drinking the beer I'm aging.

If I am up north, too much time. The beer availability is better and I tend to hord a bit. Maybe an hour online and a trip to the beer store everyday. In my real life, I spend time like normal people and working on our ORVs or ATVs, which doesn't go well with drinking, unless I have a friend helping.

Mines getting into craft beer, and the father is revisiting it. I'm not sure if these are good or bad things yet.

Dunno honestly. I'd say about ten minutes a night here on the forums and a ten looking up stuff. I multitask everything though, even my beer trips, so they don't completely take up my time. So, eh, like three hours week on average. It's the forty minute trips I have to make to places like Vintage Estate to get a bigger selection that raise the average.

I would say around 2 to 3 hours per week.

Until they block this site at work I don't want to count the time I spend here. Then add it my meandering around beer stores for what my wife calls forever, chitchatting with people working there, packing and shipping trades.....yeesh.
