After reading these post I was expecting it to be the small opener sold at the tasting room. But much to my surprise it this massive heavy opener, well done Bruery!!

I just received the card as well, but no opener. My envelope looks like it opened up in transit.

Mine was torn open the width of the opener but luckily didn't fall out.

Same thing happened to me, but mine wasn't taped back up. It was ripped open and the bottle opener was missing. I figured something had been stolen out of it. I called the Bruery and they told me it was a bottle opener and that they would send me another one.

Given all of the extremely similar responses to yours, I suspect that you're attributing to malice what's better explained by stupidity (stupidity is probably strong here, but the general sentiment of Hanlon's Razor applies I think).

I suspect that you have a thin metal item with relatively sharp edges being jostled a lot against an inadequately protected piece of packaging, and the packaging is losing by the time it gets to it's destination. Perhaps a small box would have been a better packaging material to use.

Or postman out there fucking love Bruery bottle openers...

Either way, it was missing. Doesn't really matter to me how it disappeared. Not like I reported the postman or anything.

Hey at least you got a thank you card. I haven't gotten shit, and I live slightly closer to them than you.

I once mailed something similar in the same packaging and it was lost. The Postal service said the way the mechanical sorters work may have caused the package to tear and then lost in transit as the mail moves from place to place.

Were these sent out to the shipping address or to billing address??

I am guessing billing, otherwise as a trustee for a bunch of people I assume I would have had more bottle openers than the local mail man.

I got the replacement opener in the mail today without any problem.

Strangest thing... I got a Christmas card from the Bruery In an envelope with like 80 or 90 bottle openers in it...

padded envelopes normally do a better job of protecting items in transit from leaving their envelope than your standard paper envelope due to the way the rollers and sorters at the post office interact with your mail. I don't know what type of envelope they used but I've yet to have something come out of an envelope. the thin cardboard works well too. I shipped one full of bottlecaps last year.

and after using a bar blade for over a year there's no way I can ever go back to a standard opener even if my bar blade does say 'bud light' on it. I guess I use it out of irony.
