Im glad i grew up when the internet didn't exist....or wasn't affordable.

Grew up poor as hell with a single mom, bless her heart, and for about 5 years we didn't even have a house phone!

We got internet when i was in 6th grade so everything before that was bumps and bruises from horse playin outside.
The friends you make back then are irreplaceable even if they are long gone.
And to touch on @micada point on music...DAMN LUCKY to have grown up in the hardcore/punk rock scene before it got watered down .
    What a time indeed

I get all choked up at the end of Stand By Me when they part ways cuz that is straight up how it was when i was a kid.

It warms my heart when i see kids playing outside.

Last of the Parabolas… no more after this as I “should” get some sleep before travel and tee times for tomorrow morning. Naturally, if you call me out, well, I will put this all to rest. LOL!

100%. My childhood was getting the eff out of the house and getting back in when it was necessary. Some of my best memories were hanging out with my friend down the street making throwing stars and tossing them at the fences, stealing ice cream at the local shop, and doing whatever the hell we wanted. Had a single mom who wasn't really present (due to a divorce), so we really had no rules. Friends became family.

And I gotta say, the end of Stand By Me has always had a special place for me. Meeting Gordie (Wil Wheaton) at Stone back in 2013 was quite the moment.

Well folks, I'll happily crack a Pilsner Urquell on page 30 BAs!

My next race is not, itself, super important. But it cannot be missed/failed and is coming up quickly in just 3 short weeks.

See y'all then... when @Ocalafox comes to town and we do it up Advocate Style!

I'm not gonna go all Indiana Jones on my recycling to dig out the origins of today, but you get the point.

Also, props to @Beersnake beer pressure for one of these things (imperial stout) is not like the other!

    Cheers to you All!

    I double checked the interwebs. It’s 10:30 PM on the West Coast. 10. 30. P. M.

If you BAs can’t / won’t make 30 pages, I will come there. I will come there to make a holy hell ne’er before seen by you sun-worshipping, ocean-splooshing people. I am East Coast. You will fear the judgement.

All that. If I raised my kids the way we were raised, society at the time would've said I was horrible parent. I wouldn't have traded my youth for anything. Swimming, fishing, shooting & sports in the summer with nice breaks inside for Lunch & some TV. Mom made us go to library every other week & check out books.

Running. Good for you. I am lucky to walk. One day again, I will hurl my blobby self across a flat surface in hopes of achieving better blood flow and muscular activation. Honestly, the posts from athletic BAs stay on my mind. I will do it. I am a man of my word.

To be fair now different environment. No dickheads driving around looking at their phones back then. There were other distractions to be sure, but this one pisses me off

And then from out of the mist comes Raul…

I remember hunting for this beer ten years ago. A time where I checked social meeting posts daily to see what good stuff had come in. It was a different time, man. Such a different time.

Funny beer. Shit, maybe the wax top at the time helped with its mystique. It’s an ok beer. Nowhere near the price. But I still like to revisit it below and then (Xocoveza is its daddy). What’s funny, is that Bomb! Had been the same price here ($9.99), for the last ten years. And as I noted, it’s still overpriced. Oh well.

Here’s to BA for really stoking my interest in craft beer. Things simply got more fun the more I respected what was in my glass:
