I am ISO the Aug 23 Fabled Brew Works collab bottle. Don't know if proxies will be allowed yet.

Does this seem like it's going to be a line-up? Because don't they usually have it up on OZNR by now if it's an online sale? I'll be there if this is the case.

Has anyone had the five year anniversary stout and care to share an opinion on it. It's one I've been interested in trying to trade for but all the talk of their overly sweet adjunct stouts has me hesitating

Yes, typically on Oznr. Usually ambassadors get dibs on some, then it's released via public sale or random lottery.

I'd say their barrel-forward stouts have been pretty fantastic. More balanced than Eunioa's and other pastry options from them

It seems like people are all over the place in terms of what is too sweet. It may help - since you're thinking about trading for this bottle - to put some perspective of things others have had that you think are too sweet. Just for comparison to try to reduce the probability you get burned by expectations.

Anchorage stouts are almost always too sweet for me. Revolution stouts are almost never too sweet. Anything with honey or maple is almost sure to be too sweet for me. Brandy and rum barrels can make beer seem sweeter than bourbon barrels. I generally find that zero or super low carbonation makes beer seem sweeter and maintaining a little carbonation makes it feel less like drinking syrup even if the actual sweetness is the same

I would recommend staying away from Phase Three then. I don't think they are Anchorage level but slightly below. My tolerances seem similar to yours and P3's adjuncted stouts always are too sweet for me. And their non-adjuncted lean sweet for no adjuncts (esepcially in comparison to Rev).

similar profile here, so i'd stay away from the eunoia's.

their non adjunct are better and don't generally lean overly sweet (outside of cuppa eunoia it seems).

they don't carry nearly the same secondary as they used to, so it shouldn't be that difficult to line up a trade if you have a solid anchor bottle.

Mindspark is also really good. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I feel like their hazies have been much better recently.

This won’t be a lineup. The public lotto is next week on Oznr. Ambassadors just got to buy it today.

That's a fast lotto since the release date is next Friday. What is it?

Any of y'all on here who are members, and have it FT, I'm interested. I'm still entering the lottery.

I need a huge hook up for my wife - we were just @ Phase Three (Elmhurst) for lunch before airport heading home to Minneapolis and she fell in love with the Cocojito hard seltzer. We couldn't check bags and bring any with us - can someone hook me up with a bunch? I'll send money, beer, beer + money ... whatever you want just please PM me. Her birthday is Weds and I'd love to surprise her with some next week ...

I wish I had the experience/palate to describe which ones I find too sweet and why. No one would accuse Whiskey Hill of being restrained with their pastry stouts, but with them I always feel like I'm drinking something like a dessert. With a lot of the new P3 ones it feels more like I'm drinking candy. If that comp makes sense.

It does. Sometimes I describe a beer as feeling like it has "residual sugar" when it is too sweet. It's almost like it isn't incorporated, not just that it may be unbalanced. Too, though, some adjuncts taste sweet even if the adjunct doesn't add sugar. Vanilla is notorious for this.
