Nice! You don’t find the cask ales too watery? I really liked their beers few times that I’ve had it.

Not watery at all, just a little still.

Really enjoyed the visit and plan to go back soon

Got a few of these at Trader Joes today...the best of all the Oktoberfest beers I've had so far ( two coast, paulaner, weihestephaner , alesmith, el segundo)

A little help please. Looking for local breweries that brew black lagers. For a co worker who really don’t care for ipas or pils. But he does like a couple of pales ales I gave him.

Hey, if you were serious about Schwarzbier you might go to Germany for it!

Beachwood has In the Shadows, and I remember seeing one at Green Cheek but no clue on the name.
Just north of OC, Ambitious Ales has Bohemian Spaceman, I haven't had it but I've liked their stuff the couple times I've stopped in there. And Two Coast in Gardena has what they're calling a California Dark Ale which looks interesting, I saw it on their website recently and knowing them it's good.

HPB currently has Bortz available in cans, and Enegren frequently (including right now!) has a Nighthawk in cans as well.

Not going there for cans just for my friend. But I would go for cans of Löwenbräu Original for myself. Then I would pick up cans of Schwarzbier for my friend. We were suppose to go to Munich 2 weeks ago for Löwenbräu cans and then check out some breweries. Instead we ended up going to Tokyo for 3 days and I found cans of Löwenbräu original in a 7/11. Go figure. And there’s plenty of good breweries in Tokyo. Ramen & tonkatsu was excellent too. Great in-n-out trip. Back to Korea in November

I saw the Shadow at BW. But no cans. I guess I could have gotten a crowler for my friend. I’ll have to check it out tomorrow. GC did have some cans awhile back.

100% - I could live off Nighthawk and The Lightest One. Anything extra is just gravy

Random edit: @Resistance88, I disagree with many of your takes in the Pacific forum. In the lager thread though, you’re my doppelgänger and you consistently provide great recommendations. I really dig that, thanks.

I'm really enjoying this year's SN Oktoberfest collab. I usually buy a 6er and that's enough, but this year I'm on my 3rd. Something about it really hits the spot for me.

It's definitely unique. I'm about ready to revisit it and see if I can come to a conclusion about it. I suspect it's unique enough that it might be the kind of beer that doesn't always hit, but that really works when it does

I love all the Fest beer options this year. I currently have newly released Fest from Pizzaport; Burgeon; I also have Enegren, Mother Earth and Sierre Nevada.

Because Enegren is awesome, and that’s what he posts about every time on this thread.
