Stopped by Centre on Saturday and had a few pours/grabbed cans. Tried HDHC Solo Exhibition Citra, Juice Brawl, & BA Coconut Crazies. HDHC Solo Citra was good, but I did feel like it was a tad boozy compared to how triples have been from OH in the past. Could just be my palate, I don't really drink many triples at all. I thought Juice Brawl was real good, very balanced. Coconut Crazies was very good, not too sweet, lots of coconut, but did get a bit boozy once it got warmer. I enjoyed it more than most OH stouts, it was not as cloying as I was expecting.

Bought All Fresh Citra Everything and opened one yesterday. It smelled great when I was pouring it and it tasted just as good. Wish I grabbed a second 4 pack, as it was def the best between what I tried in the taproom and brought home.

Went over to pick up some 4 packs for an upcoming trip. The Ideal Wave hop bill looked good so I grabbed that. It was Ok. So now I also wish I picked up a second 4 of All Fresh!

also, the latest batches of space diamonds have been so good I had to get that again.

    Surprise awesome beer? Hot Dog!

Drinking a Late Night Juice Run that was canned in mid-January. It was refrigerated at a small beer store that had a craft section but didn’t exactly focus on craft beer.

Sone of the potency is lost, but I have to say, it’s still really fantastic. Full of flavor and still hoppy. Glad I forgot to check the bottom of the can because otherwise I would’ve passed on it (don’t live in the NY area anymore, so don’t come across Other Half as much anymore).

I enjoyed Hot Dog as well when I tried it at the tap room a few weeks ago! Good to know Space Diamonds has been good lately, will have to grab some soon!

I will say, historically OH IPAs usually will taste pretty good longer than you'd prob except. Some beers time isn't as kind to in my experience, but I have found an old OH can floating in the back of my fridge from months earlier and its still great

With this teacher's summer starting to draw to a close, I treated myself to a solo trip to OH FLX last week. Beers were great as usual, with the peanut butter and jelly crunchee jumping out as the surprise winner.

But the top moment was when I was checking out and a guy came up to order, asking, "what hazy iPAs do you have?"

I used to feel the the heat coming off tap room staff during the height Centre St when someone would walk up and say that or say something like "I will take the green, or the dream beer" whhen half the board had those names. Thats a self created OH problem they have moved a bit away from but still get the frustration, you are staring at a board that has 5 beers with Green in the name, come on

I was down in southwest Florida for the second time and met our long lost leader @algebeeric_topology for a couple of beers at Corporate Ladder. Maybe it's because I didn't make it up to Tampa, but good lord we are spoiled for beer in the northeast. Corporate Ladder and Calusa make decent stuff, but everything else was pretty..... not good. The TDH ACE can that I drank last night blew everything away that I drank over the past week.

Calusa was pretty good the one time I was there, but a few other spots we hit before/after did not stand up

Quality aside, I have no clue why Florida seems to have such an obsession with the high fructose corn syrup sugarwater with chocolate cookies blended in… I can understand why breweries in Wisconsin and Maine concentrate on the heavy stuff, but why are Angry Chair and Corporate Ladder insisting on releasing this stuff so regularly? You would think that it would be the perfect hotbed for a nice, traditional lager-based brewery, and yet…

I've wondered that too. Maybe something about the water quality, or lack thereof in some areas, is more conducive to it.

Good life/stress reset haha. The beer might not have been the greatest, but we spend every day on the beach and ate a ton of seafood. I can't complain too much about having a beer on the beach with this view.

Rob told me that Calusa makes the best hops in the area and I can definitely see that. Zote is solid and was readily available in almost every restaurant that I went to. That german pilsner I posted above was also quite good, although not as good as stuff back home. I also enjoyed the Corporate Ladder bottle that Rob split with me, and overall their beers were decent as well.

I said the same thing. Why is an area that is hotter than the devil's asshole known for making these high ABV stouts.

What did think of Solo? I was underwhelmed. The cans I bought were DC brewed and that could be part of the reason.

There’s also a lager in the lineup:

We teamed up with @monkishbrewing, @hollingberyhops, and @ign.hopfen to brew a special lager that hits all the right notes. Crafted with Zumo, Saphir, and Callista hops—all grown in Germany—this crisp 5.1% Schlager Lager is a refreshing nod to the country’s favorite musical genre.

I was kind of off the radar and had no idea about trillium week until i wandered today to pick up a couple of 4 packs for the weekend. Got to taste the channel charged and sweet potato fries. Loved both of them, grabbed those two four packs and left. Now just imagine that happening 6 years ago when the line for trillium potato day wrapped around the building. Twice!
