Making a dent in the apple fall which accrued while we were traveling - looks like tomorrow I'll make it through to the end of the piles. Today's New Breakfast Beer:



I was particularly intrigued by the precipitate:

From my review: "Body – Brown (SRM 20), opaque. Under direct light, amorphous amoeboid-like chunks of precipitate are evident." ...

A couple of decades ago when I started my beer journey in earnest, I was drinking what I remember as an Irish cream stout - apparently it used cream to clarify. Each bottle had this amoeboid mass in the bottom that would slowly roll with each tilt of the bottle and creep toward my mouth if I drank directly from the bottle. Fortunately, no pseudopods were evident.

Final Impression and summation: 4.25 Very good cream ale at an excellent price point.

it’s been years (decades?) since I’ve had one. I remember the hop character being unusually floral and a bit off putting, but who knows? I may have to revisit at some point.

Good Monday BA's! Three years ago today was the Abbey Gate bombing at the Kabul airport that killed 13 US service members and 170 Afgans. IMHO one of the worst planned and executed withdrawals. I don't blame the president, the entire joints chiefs of staff had to sign off on the plan. They had Bagram Air Base about 30 miles away that was built in the 1950's by the Soviets and fortified almost every year since. It would have been a totally different outcome. Enough history, Tropicalia with a french bread pizza.

 

Great start to the week, including @The_Kriek_Freak 's European vacation. Amalgamator dropped here at The Beer Temple last week, so broke my beer buying timeout as my one "exception" to the rule. We typically get a drop this time each year, picked up 2 four packs though wanted more. It's marvelous as always.

Personally I love all Duvels except this one. But well, I can only stand coconut-flavours in icecreams. Was there lemon-grass in it as well?
I only recall it was too much for me :-)
