I wouldn't mind going to TT's tomorrow, but I'll be at work at job #2 during their shindig. I'll be hitting the Goat shortly.

I do a double-take at the prices every time I go to Zip's (which is, like, once a year since I live on the west side) ... and yet I never have buyer's remorse. Zip's is just too damn good.

I hit em a couple times a year. I mostly try to avoid fast food, though.

West Plains Brewing, in Airway Heights, had their soft opening on Thursday. Right now they're not offering food besides free popcorn, and the city of Airway Heights has taken exception to the fencing around the rear patio, so it's not yet opened, but there's two taps of beer on, plus two taps devoted to a cider and a kombucha. Four beers are listed as being near tapping, but right now their indigenous beers are a blonde and an oatmeal stout.

Just don't order the Currywurst and expect anything authentic. It was like somebody threw some sliced brats into some Sriracha and then tossed some curry powder at it.

Why does the beer distro in Spokane absolutely suck? The few good craft beer bars seem to only have local, some seattle, some Portland / bend beer and Tavour stuff on tap? I am from CA where the distribution is amazing and you can find awesome beer at random little bars.

Covid killed a lot of our distro. We do have some great beer bars, but it’s not CA

Bardic Brewing, in Spokane Valley, has announced that they've acquired the former Mountain Lakes space as a downtown location. The announcement I saw didn't seem to explicitly say so, but I'm pretty sure their current location will remain open. No idea if they'll relocate the site of actual brewing or not.

Paragon Brewing, in Coeur d'Alene, has closed it's current location. The original announcement was made on August 9.
In it, they declared on FB that they'll be reopening somewhere else, but will not be announcing where til the deal is done. Since then, there's been no word on a new location. Hopefully, they can find one that suits them. I only was able to make it to their now-closed location a couple times, but they seemed to make some nice beers.

If you think this sucks, you'd have hated living here in the 00s. Basically one beer bar (the Viking), a corporate brew pub (a Ram Brewery), and one survivor of the '90s micro beer scene (No-Li, then still called Northern Lights). A typical bar had Bud/Miller/Coors and maybe a Black Butte or something from Pyramid. Whatever you can say about distribution here now, it's leaps and bounds better than it used to be.

Lumberbeard Brewing is putting on a Fresh Hop festival on October 11-12. In addition to five from themselves, they'll also have at least that many from other breweries.

TT's Old Iron Brewery is closing on December 22nd for a winter-long reappraisal of how they're going to do business going forward.

They have had some really tasty BBQ, brainchilded by a local semi-celebrity chef, Chad White. Apparently, that's going away. Weekdays I'm constrained by my work hours, but I think I'm going to have to visit on a weekend between now and the 22nd.

Bardic's downtown location in the old Mountain Lakes Brewing space is now open. It is a taproom only, with their beers and ciders still being made at their OG location in Spokane Valley. I believe food is being served but cannot personally confirm, as I've moved out of the downtown area. I'll try to stop by on a weekend next month.
