Agreed, but I was referring to the fact that they're no longer an MTV thing. Videos on YT are a dime a dozen, and most artists aren't making any money off of them.

As far as I know they make jack shit on hardly any of the platforms. Another reason to buy product & see them in concert

 

Thank the record companies for the situation. Videos are the promo spots that used to be on radio. Bands make dough on the shows, so I buy merch and music at the shows I attend. Very different landscape from when we were interviewing acts on our college radio station. Not sure it’s better, but certainly is different. Cheers.

 

Yeah. It was brief but delightful!

 

I believe for the most part that that's how they make their money - live shows and swag sales at the events. Corporate America took over all that stuff in the early to mid seventies. That's why the cost of going to a concert went from $6 for a front row seat to see Hendrix to the outrageous prices of today's concerts.
