Hello, We will be in Paris and Lille during the week between Christmas and New Year’s. Will beer locales be open (besides 12/25 and 1/1) and are there any that are particularly festive with their beer offerings? General recommendations welcomed as well! Cheers! Merci!
Sorry no one has reached out, that's not right!! If you are travelling by car & have some extra time while in Lillie, I would suggest driving to St Bernardus, (for lunch/beer) just outside of Watou BE & then Brasserie Thiriez, (taproom) in Esquelbecq FR, (20 mins from Watou). Both fantastic beer locations. The hill town of Cassel FR is also close by. Great beer bar 'T Kasteelhof in Cassel. Enjoy your holiday trip!
Thanks! Or maybe no one knows on here so I’ll find out for us all lol. No car but one of us in the group has a friend in Belgium that might be able to help us out to do this They just aren’t sure of their holiday plans yet, if they aren’t around we will just stick to Lille, no big deal
Au Baron is another good one in the region, I don't think I saw it mentioned up there. In Lille itself, you'll have access to tons of regional brews. For this, plus a fatty, beer-filled Welsh, stop by l'Estaminet Lillois in Rue de la Barre. I don't think you'll find much better than them.
Can’t make empty promise but I’m usually close to Paris around Christmas holidays season. If you’re staying a bit and if you’re traveling by train from Paris to Lille you’ll no doubt travel by the Gare du Nord station which is a major hub in Paris. Let me know, I can hook you up with some good beers from my area.
So ends up that we’re spending the whole week in Paris, very excited. Do we need to make reservations at beer halls or can we just walk in?
If you're destination happens to be a michelin starred restaurant, you should definitely make reservations. Otherwise, most places you can just walk in.
Looks like I'll be in Paris for a couple of days in May as well. Did you figure out any good spots? @Shanex - any beer places that shouldn't be missed in Paris?
La fine Mousse, I can’t vouch for them personally but many advocates who have visited the city enjoyed it immensely. https://www.lafinemousse.fr/en/
