Confirmed that the Green Cheek ASAP is damn good. I went on Sunday (Oceanside) and grabbed 2 4pk plus a couple other new ones I have yet to open.

Green Cheek posted on IG stories today they are brewing a Mosaic fh beer in collab w balebreaker and yakima chief.

Not sure if they split the hops w other breweries or not but this will be the first non Strata fh beer brewed in socal that I'm aware of. Cannot wait!

I sure wish more norcal brewers would jump on the wet hop train. Hopefully you southlanders can build the hype and convince the northern brewers to get in on it

I guess it must just be me, but I had Stratacaster (Riip) and ASAP as possible, both on draft from the source, about an hour apart, and didn't decide to get cans of either. I wasn't getting much on the aroma and the flavor wasn't really anything special for me either. If anything, I'd say they were both a bit more muted than the other great IPAs I tried at both locations. Single Fidens is drinking miiiighty smooth.

Usually I've seen North Park do a 'Strata Rocket' fresh hop, but I haven't seen anything on that this year. Burgeon is having a Fresh Hop Friday next Friday the 27th at all locations. South O Brewing (which has upped the quality of their beers lately) is releasing a fresh hop called Hopzaza collab with a few other breweries.

I’ve been checking their website for the release, but I’m probably not going to bother on ordering any as the shipping cost is out of this world. I did order the last 2 years. Not happy with their shipping cost. So I’m going to pass this year. I’m hoping Radiant comes out with their fresh hop this year. I know Beachwood has not released any fresh hop the last several years or maybe never.

Pizzaport just posted a few FH that seem to be tap only from multiple locations, they did not mention cans. Carlsbad, San Clemente and OB all made different batches.

No idea. I know that at least Russian river does a couple but they don't send them out. And moonlight always has some that release super weirdly late in the season. Ghost Town seems to be the most on top of it with two wet hop beers the last couple years and both of them getting at least limited distribution.

But beyond that it seems mighty quiet for the area that's closest to the hop growing regions and which also has its own hop yards (Russian River and Moonlight both advertise all Sonoma hops and there's a place called Alexander Valley Hops that has like 2 or 3 acres under cultivation and was saying last year their plan was to sell all their hops wet).

Maybe it’s because we get the wet hops but they get the fresh hops for the [insert naming preference here] beers.

*edit: I don’t think this joke is going to land, and it’s not worth trying to explain. Nothing to see here...

ISM just dropped their fresh wet hop, Fresh Hop Swell Cutter. Looks like it’s only on tap at the source and Windsor & Brown.
